  1. Wow indeed 2.5 years left and close to $34 million that they will eat for him not to play for Detroit What on earth. Josh Smith was 119th.
  2. There have been only 3 pitchers in MLB history (not currently active) to average over 10 K's per 9 innings over their entire career (and pitched over 1000 innings). Can you name them?
  3. Of the 120 players that have shot enough to qualify, Kobe Bryant is 117th in both shooting percentage and true shooting percentage.
  4. The Saints are now eliminated from playoff contention.
  5. Right, because it's the semantics that are the issue here. The mere fact that he responded in tow implies he took it as a challenge, but thank goodness Kyle is here to nitpick semantic flaws to get to the heart of the issues.
  6. That reminds me of the knee-jerk derision of anyone who dares to criticize a move the Cubs FO makes. Sip the kool-aid or get lost. I know people sometimes refer to Japan as being on a different planet, but you may be surprised to learn that everyone challenging your opinions isn't automatically on drugs or following group think, despite how constantly hypocritical you are on the subject.
  7. That basically sums up Derwood in a sentence.
  8. This would only mean good things for the rest of the NL. If the Dodgers are allowed to get out from under that deal so easily, the sky's the limit for them.
  9. And by "garbage", obviously gscool means "the most productive OF on the roster last year". Not to say his production can't be replaced, and nobody's really bemoaning the loss, but he was productive last year.
  10. They do that to differentiate it from Houville

  12. I need 40 points from my QB to win tonight. Do I go with Brees against the Bears pass D or Cutler against the NO pass D?
  13. This year, so far, the West is 89-45 against the East, a 66.4% winning percentage. It's down from earlier in the month, as the East has struck back lately.
  14. That's last year, actually.
  15. I didn't see it, but I guess they unveiled a statue of Kerry Wood soaked in apete6's urine or something.
  16. It seems like this has been the case for years, and years, and years now. When was the last time the East was better than the West? The 80's and 90's was basically the reverse of this situation. The actual last season the East was better, though, was 2008-09. That was the year the Cavs, Magic and Celtics all won 59 or more games, and only one East team finished with fewer then 32 wins (Washington).

  18. I mean...ten days in AAA = 1 extra year of team control.
  19. The 8th place team in the West right now is a game under .500. So the conferences are more or less balanced at this point in time, record-wise, top-8 (West still leads H2H by an absurd amount, and the bad East teams are BAD). That is, until OKC gets rolling.
  20. Gotta say, I love Lester getting #34--hopefully it will help some of the false Kerry Wood hero worship from Cubs fans and hopefully ends any chance of it ever being retired for a guy whose on-field stats don't come close to earning that honor. Nothing against Woody, but those are just facts. There was never a chance Wood's jersey was going to be retired. That's basically the only fact in this post.
  21. Uh, yes? They're kinda really good everywhere else so yeah. That's pure fantasy, but believe what you want. I think you might be missing a good deal of reality yourself, here. Trading the quality depth they have is pure lunacy, and the team they have right now is definitely good enough to win the East at the least. Brooks is already getting burn over Hinrich in the 4th, and Rose is just starting to get his legs under him again. You're overreacting to a small sample size of play when 1-2 key players are absent from each night.
  22. Rose with his first 30 point game since Dwight Howard was on the Magic and LeBron James had no rings.
