  1. Well, the Pats can't really take a knee here.
  2. It's just another sign that the regular season is way too damned long.
  3. The Buffalo Sabres lost their 14th straight game last night, all in regulation. They failed to earn a single point in January.
  4. A bit surprised Soler didn't make that list. Maybe he didn't get the necessary PAs.
  5. I mean, to be honest, Jackson wasn't the best option for the #5 starter to end last year, and the Cubs have added two starters since then.
  6. 13 teams, yes.
  7. The weirdness of Rose's line aside, the reason the Bulls won this game was Noah and Gasol. Noah looking like Noah again is huge for this team (to the point they can weather missing any SG production at all and a 33 shot, 11 TO game from their PG to beat an unbeatable team on the road).
  8. Unfortunately the Bulls don't have a D-league team, so there's no way to do that to assure him minutes. He's just going to have to score 15 points in 90 seconds for Thibs to trust him on the floor.
  9. Co-worker said it is the craziest thing he's seen. I laughed. Nothing will ever beat Reggie Miller getting those 9 points to beat the Knicks. That was so memorable you forgot it was 8 points.
  10. I think it'd be kind of cool if they made opening day Cubs-Cards an afternoon double header, if that were possible.
  11. Illinois is so out of healthy players they're suiting up the team manager for this weekend's game.
  12. Win in Dallas against a team that has been absolutely on fire since the Rondo trade, and it wasn't even due to an off Nowitzki night.
  13. Looks like Rob Neyer isn't going to miss Selig very much... http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/commissioner-bud-selig-interview-history-legacy-retirement-012315
  14. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=54498&p=2201849#p2201849 Ha! Harold Reynolds was right about Trout and Meph wasn't. The next page involves a bunch more posters making fun of Trout. Even more delicious. Hindsight is fun. From what I was reading, they were making fun of the broadcast for using the same adjectives to describe every draftee. They were making fun of the stuff Reynolds was saying about Trout, not of Trout. There were also several pages of posters hoping someone else would draft Brett Jackson to save the Cubs FO from themselves.
  15. Yeah, that's great. LED and Solar Energy should be everywhere. Have you seen this: That may sound like a cool idea, but it's so unfeasible it should come with a laugh track.
  16. What would Walt Weiss be doing at Halas Hall?
  17. Interestingly enough, the Cubs are currently structured in a way where Bryant could slide in at 3B or LF and isn't really taking a job from anyone.
  18. Castro moves him and his family to Arizona because the DR isn't safe enough: http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/12182605/starlin-castro-chicago-cubs-moving-family-arizona-being-gunfire-incidents-dominican-republic Fans continue to bash him for no reason, film at 11.
  19. http://www.baseball-reference.com/games/standings.cgi?date=2014-07-13 33-35, 9th in NL, with a ton of Pyth luck. From the date of the Samardzija-Hammel trade (they were 38-46 with a .500 Pythagorean %), the Cubs went 35-43 with a Pythagorean % of .372, worst in baseball.
  20. http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20150116/BLOGS04/150119847/cubs-select-daktronics-for-wrigley-video-boards
  21. @BruceMiles2112 Reports on further #Cubs signings to avoid arb: Arrieta $3.63 million; Wood $5.685m; Valbuena $4.2m @BruceMiles2112 #Cubs get all arb-eligibles signed but Pedro Strop. He and Cubs will file figures later.
  22. Jeff Sullivan ‏@based_ball Sogard: this clubhouse ain't big enough for the two of us Clippard: /glares Sogard: /glares Melvin: yes it is Melvin: it's a big clubhouse
  23. @BruceMiles2112 Remaining #Cubs arb-eligibles are: Wood, Valbuena, Strop, Coghlan, Arrieta and Castillo.
  24. Who the hell is that? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=%40theRealDubi22
  25. His floor is the same as my NFL quarterback floor....not being an NFL quarterback.
