  1. No max for national tv. 5 is max for primetime games.
  2. Love Dallas, New Orleans and Detroit in Chicago in December. Hate 2 home games from Week 2 to 11.
  3. Back to back Thursday games is odd.
  4. Fitting anniversary finish. Lee Smith, Mitch Williams, and LaTroy Hawkins would be proud.
  5. I'd rather get one of the tough games out of the way early. Especially with the way the Bears have struggled down the stretch in recent years. Last year, they opened with a good Cincy team. Year before, an eventual 11-win Colts team. 2011 it was the eventual 10-win Falcons. Most of the tough games appear to be on the road too. This is the 5th straight year the Bears will open the season at home. They are 4-0 in the previous openers.
  6. 5-game hitting streak, but he's only 6 for his last 28, with 1 XBH and 5 Ks.
  7. Iowa goes to Colorado Springs starting Thursday. Javy could kill some stuff.
  8. You basically have to go in treating this like his rookie season. Uhhhh, no you don't. Expectation wise sure. Not saying his clock completely restarts, but we can't rush his development if we want to maximize his chances of contributing to this team. Just let him show progress. He doesn't need to get the customary two year leeway first round picks get, but we shouldn't expect third year LB play out of him. Or rather can't count on that production. We need to plan on him not being that good because of reality. If he exceed expectations, that's just gravy. Now maybe if you were the GM you wouldn't be willing to develop him, so the move should have been to cut him. Obviously Emery (for whatever reason) did not want to cut him. There's no logic to a position change then carry sink or swim type expectations. If he plays like a good rookie LB, I'd say we would keep him, whereas most third year first round picks, you'd be thinking about cutting them. No reason to cut him because his salary doesn't prohibit the team from doing anything. Best case scenario, he's a solid starting LB. Worst case, he's a below average edge rusher that doesn't have to play as many snaps as he has the last 2 years. Its not necessarily "sink or swim" at LB for him this year, but it's also not "let's see some development". It's purely about salavaging something for a 19th overall pick before he goes into his contract year.
  9. The Cardinals are a pretty good looking team on paper. Pretty talented team that won 10 games and didn't lose much while adding Cromartie on the corner opposite Peterson. Could use help at ILB, TE, and eventually a franchise QB to take over for Palmer. But I went with S and who I think is BPA. Cardinals select S Calvin Pryor, Louisville.
  10. It might not help. But he's going from playing DE and facing 305lb OTs to playing LB and potentially covering 205lb RBs. Plus, he's not getting skinnier just to get skinnier, he's just not trying to maintain 265 to take the wear and tear of being blocked by a 305lb man.
  11. Gotta remember, Shea was basically asked to put on weight so he could stay at DE. He was drafted around 250ish wasn't he? I think when your goal is to simply put on weight, it's not going to always be "good". He was probably eating a ton of calories during the season and couldn't work out as much probably by design to rest from practices/games and heal from injuries. Now that he's playing LB, I think he's at a more natural weight for him. Also, as a former weight lifter, I dropped weight to get into a lower weight class for a bench press competition when I was in college, all while increasing my bench press a good 30-40lbs. I never had visible abs until I got under 11% body fat. I was typically around 13%, but got as low as 9%, and still didn't have a 6-pack. Only had 4, could never get the lower abs going. And yeah, genetics play a huge part in everything. Some people can just get bigger/toner than others without doing as much. My workout partner back in the day was physically more muscular to the eye than me, but I was 230lbs with 11% body fat and he was 195lbs with 9-10% body fat. So, the concerns with Shea coming out of the draft look to be true. He can't really add much to his frame. Whereas a guy like Idonije could play at anywhere from 270-300 in his career based on what the team needed, and he didn't look sloppy when he was heavier or too skinny when he was smaller.
  12. 5 Olympians vs 3 dudes and no goals.
  13. Sczsur with a leadoff triple. Alcantara popped out on the 2nd pitch of the game. Baez flies to RF and did not get the run in either.
  14. Hendricks strikes out the side in the 1st with a single miXed in.
