  1. Renteria is kinda a dumb ass huh?
  2. I'll take anyone. I think I usually do San Diego or Houston or Pittsburgh or something.
  3. Donald isn't your typical combine-hyped prospect though. Dude's numbers were ridiculous. 28.5 TFL and 11 sacks from the DT position. 63 TFL and 27.5 sacks in the last 3 years. He's the real deal. The only concern is if the lack of size hampers him at the next level. I don't get the amount of concern over his size. His weight is fine and sure he's a little short. But there's already proven success with that body type at the NFL level (Geno Atkins among others). There's also proven failure with that body type. I don't really question if Donald won't fail, but I'm not sure if he's the next Geno Atkins or the next Chris Zorich. Zorich had success. Yes, he had a solid 6 year career with 2 very good years. And I expect Donald to have success, which is why I didn't pick a complete failure. But with the 14th pick, I want more than a solid career. I don't know if he's a potential 1st team all pro like Atkins.

  5. not really, he is taking the year off for health/family reasons. Dempster was taking a nap and has heard nothing about any retirement.
  6. Pirates are Cubs'ing this inning all up.
  7. 2nd walk was intentional.
  8. He's been so good, but so bad at the same time. Bonafacio is going to be a disaster when he starts hitting like Emilio Bonafacio.
  9. For current players, Randy Foye, Trevor Ariza, Jodie Meeks. Something like that. I was going to say Ariza.
  10. Obligatory lineup gripe: Shoulda split up the LH and RH hitters. 4 LH followed by 4 RH, Pirates have easy time matching up in relief.

  12. I may be in the minority, but I enjoy seeing a Baez single or double in the boxscore more than a HR. Obviously, I watch the HR highlights, but I kinda feel like I know he can and will hit HRs. Even when he's slumping, he goes like 2-19 with 2 HRs. I feel like when he singles (especially to the right side like yesterday) that he's more locked in and not trying to murder every ball.
  13. Meh, he left a couple normally good pitches up a little on a night with the wind howling out. I'm not terribly concerned. He didn't walk anybody and got a couple ks. Yeah, those were 1 lazy fly ball and 1 deep fly ball on a normal day. Bad location on both pitches though. I like Strop.
  14. Hey look. Wandy sucks. About time the score stayed to reflect it.
  15. Vitters off to a nice 7-20, 2 doubles, 2 HR start. First walk today too. .350/.381/.750 line.
  16. that pitcher has certainly disgraced himself The future is here man [expletive]!
  17. Obviously his recruiting is his biggest strength and he was out-coached yesterday, but he did a great job of getting this team together. He did better performances with UMass than UK, when I say he has done his best job yet, I'm speaking of terms in Lexington. This was a different style of play from Feb. till now, blame should go to Cal for how poorly they started though. I still think the talent on this squad is vastly overrated, the only one I see being a major contributor is Randle at the next level, everyone else is likely a role player. I really like Young's game. He's going to take a couple years, but he's going to be more than just a role player IMO. He will need to step up on defense, he's horrible against the pick and roll, I don't see his ceiling much greater than Snell. Slightly better off the dribble. I was thinking more of a Nick Young type.
  18. There are rumors of Donald to NYG. There are rumors that the Rams won't let HCD get past 13. And Gilbert will almost certainly be gone by 14 (possible from 8 on). That's got to be the worst case draft scenario for the Bears. 1 of Donald/HCD/Gilbert would be ideal. Emery also isn't predictable and could easily take a Haegeman or Fuller who are both late 1st/early 2nd prospects. Honestly, that's what I'm expecting at this point. Kyle Long was kind of off the radar last year. Seen as a 2nd/3rd round pick by most publications. The year before was obviously McClellin and the lack of scheme fit. I'm fully expecting Emery to NOT pick who any of the popular picks are.

  20. I like Fuller more than Dennard too, though in a perfect world, you trade down to the 20s for him. Agreed. Potential trade downs are: to 18th Jets (Dennard, Ebron, Beckham) to 19th Miami (Taylor Lewan) to 22nd Eagles (WR or CB, though they like Fuller and WRs who should be there at 22) to 26th Cleveland (falling QB) to 28th Carolina (obviously WR) to 30th SF (because they have too many picks for open spots on their roster and could use a WR or CB). I'd prefer to not go further than 22nd, and if they could get a 3rd to only move to 18 or 19 (every 1st round trade in the last 5 years, the team moving down more than 4 picks has gotten at least a 3rd), then I'd be ecstatic. Could still have their pick of Fuller, Pryor, or possibly even Donald at 19 because I don't see any of the teams between the Bears and 19 picking him.
