  1. Where are his potential landing spots? Would be a great backup to Forte :) The New York teams are both interested. The Jets, Falcons, Bills, and Dolphins all talked trade for him.
  2. Probably true due to lack of pedigree/results associated with a prospect ranked over 40 in his own system. But there's a big difference between being a 19-20 year old kid that hasn't played above SS A-ball and being a 25-year old that has failed for 3 straight years in the high minors and ML level.
  3. Ditto. Though, apparently I previously marked the wrong box. So, I just broke the tie.
  4. Like both of those guys. Obviously gotta do much more to get on the radar, but 2 guys with some good upside.
  5. And Almora completes the IF cycle. Ground outs to 2nd, 3rd, 1st and SS in that order. Vogelwalk. Daytona loses opener.
  6. I like the good guys bunched together in the lineup. Wish Almora and Vogelbach could get promoted really quickly. Almora, Bryant, Vogelbach and Soler back 2 back would be awesome.
  7. Brett Jackson is the minor league baseball version of Rex Grossman. "If he can do more good things and stop doing the bad stuff. ...."
  8. Vogelbach and Candelario back-to-back singles. Then bad players got out. Almora is a ground out to SS away from the IF cycle. And yeah, Tennessee is not updating for me. Still shows game at 7:30.
  9. He's earned it with all the time he's been on the Tennessee roster. Gotta go with the vet.
  10. Would it be that hard to do a floating day off? It seems like there could be a Monday-Thursday series. 3 games. Monday always opening day. Then the off day is based on the weather. If good weather, then off day Thursday after the series. Can forecast pretty accurately 7-10 days out. Set the schedule then. Especially with a night game. It's not like you have to worry about fans taking the day off work. Plus, the fans would have a week to change plans or sell tickets or whatever.
  11. CB is always a deep position. Unless a CB is a clear top 10 prospect, there's little difference from a mid 1st rounder to a 3rd rounder. Hes right about ILB, but im not a big Mosley fan. I thought Dennard and Gilbert are considered borderline Top Ten? I've seen them both going at 8 or 9 in several mocks. I think Gilbert is. He'll be gone by time the Bears pick at 14. Dennard, I think, I have ranked about 15. So, he's not far off. But I'd just as soon wait a round for Stanley Jean Baptiste or Bradley Roby (if he falls a little) than take Dennard at 14. Especially since the Bears don't necessarily have to have a CB come in and start Day 1.
  12. Was a DSL top 20 prospect in 2012, pitched well in the AZL last season. FB topped out at 93 back when he was in the DSL, also throws a slider and change. Thanks sir. Worth noting, he's also to walks what CJ Edwards is to HRs allowed. 15 walks in 169 pro innings.
  13. Agreed. He's kinda like Javy in that he does start disasterously at each level (5Ks in 1st 5 ABs in Boise, 5 in first 9 at Daytona, 11 in 18 this spring). But he has adjusted to put the ball in play. It will be very interesting to see how much he's able to put the ball in play at the upper levels, when pitchers start to have more control/command and attack him either inside hard or low and away with offspeed stuff (typical way to get a tall, long-armed hitter out). Plus, I have almost 0 hope for him at 3B. Doesn't look bad there, but he's just so freaking tall and long.

  15. what a gorgeous [expletive] park, jesus christ Yeah, I miss being able to go to it more often. Easily my favorite place to see a baseball game. You can park right across the river and walk over the bridge and it's just [expletive] perfect. Meanwhile the Cubs get to come home to Fart City. Yeah, it's wonderful. Why the football stadium wasn't built with a similar view, I'll never know (and it has a college-style open endzone end).
  16. 80 wins. Good bullpen. Improvement from Rizzo, Castro, and Olt. Sweeney has a solid year. Baez coming up. Nobody who's production isn't replaceable gets traded. Just miss .500
  17. Oh and you guys know I didn't say anything about trading Castillo, right? I said "be a part of the future OR bring back a part of the future".
  18. no inside sources here, but i like McGary to return he's still a year younger than Payne, who improved his stock by returning Come back and risk injury again? I think he's gone. Though, he probably looking at a pick in the 20s vs. a lottery pick if he comes back. I think he's a high second round pick right now unless he somehow impresses greatly during his workouts Yeah, I was assuming he would have good workouts, and operating under best case scenario in both scenarios (coming back, leaving)
  19. Lake and Castillo and Samarzdija should also be of interest to most people. All 3 could be part of a "good" Cubs team in the future or return a major part to a good Cubs team.

  21. If they all get healthy and stay at AA for most of the year, the Bryant, Gieger, Soler middle of the order has a chance to hit 60+ HRs between them.
