  1. Amazing bat speed from Schwarber on that HR. I wonder how fast the Cubs are going to move him. The Bryant track would make sense (Daytona shortly, AA next year), but if he's going to get a chance to stay at C then he's probably going to have to be promoted less aggressively. If a guy can't catch, it's not a position where you keep him there until you have to move him. If he can't play C, you move him to another position quickly. If he can play, typically he stays in the minors until he shows he can catch at an ML level.
  2. I think Hammel could bring a package similar to Maholm or Dempster.
  3. We've reached the point that if Bryant goes 2-24th and doesn't have an extra base hit, his OPS goes down. Unless he hits a triple his monthly OPS goes down.
  4. Bostic being a capable Mike LB would be wonderful for this franchise. One less spot to worry about in the immediate future and would allow the Bears to not be forced to draft a MLB early next year, which looks to be the case as of now.
  5. Yeah Harris over Stauskas for me too.
  6. So, the Cubs are getting a ton of production in the minors from the catcher position. Lopez, Cutler, Remillard all with OPS's well over .800. Contreras has been at .800 since the start of May. Any of these guys worth a damn?
  7. So, the Bears were voted best offense for 2014 by fans on ESPN.com. 22% of the vote. More than Philly at 14% and Denver at 13%. FWIW, the Packers were included in "others", while the Chiefs and Browns were options. So grain of salt.
  8. Not really. But whenever a guy's position gets questioned before he gets drafted, it usually holds true. Plus,I know it wasn't clear but I meant getting his bat to the majors is ideal. If his glove is even remotely in the reasons for keeping him in AA.... it's a bad reason.
  9. 2 errors at 3B for Bryant though. At this point, i fully support a permanent move to RF and fast track him to the majors.
  10. Really love the potential future bullpen. The current group isn't bad, but add Vizcaino, Rosscup, Rivero and guys who aren't good enough for future rotations to Strop, Ramirez, and Rondon and u could have a legit [expletive] down group. Also if Alcantara can take over and be as effective as Bonafacio that would be nice.
  11. Damn. Really wish the Cubs would habe listened to me and signed Kazmir and Nelson Cruz. Of course, Kazmir would have been at the expense of Hammel most likely. I wish this team would take a chance on an OF bat the way they have done with pitchers.
  12. Cubs could have a [expletive] of power in the not too distant future.
  13. HOO HOO HOO HOOSIERS! Wanted Jackson, I don't know if Schwarber can stay at C, but he can really hit.
  14. Despite the playoff success, Cutler is a steal compared to Kaepernick.
  15. Makes sense that a tall guy would hit them out to CF and RF as a young guy. ML pitchers will bust him inside a lot early until he can prove he can turn on the ball.
  16. @MartysaurusRex: I go hard every [expletive] day. No doubt about that. Not a single ounce of bitch in me."
  17. IU loses as the visiting team on a walk off HR on our own field. Back-to-back days one of my teams gets eliminated at home in a do or die game on a walk off. Life is awesome!
  18. Cowboys considering reaching out to Urlacher to replace Sean Lee. I, for one, would like top see this happen. Would be fun to see him in that market/train wreck. In other news, I'm starting to warm up to the idea of Ed Reed as a Bear. It hasn't even been talked about, Just my thought. But FS is still really weak for the Bears and hes an easy cut if he Didn't habe anything left.
  19. You coulda posted this everyday since last July.
  20. He's going to be leading in walks by the end of the weekend. Maybe doubles if he ever keeps one on the other side of the wall.
  21. Is it me or does Javy seem to turn a bunch of double plays? Just looking at boxscores, he seems to turn multiple per game. I don't really know what that means, but my assumption are hands and quickness are pretty legit and will play well at 2nd, which leads to reasoning why the Cubs may be projecting him there instead of 3rd which is probably a bigger hole and seems to be the more obvious place to play him with his size and bat.
  22. I like Harvey better than Gausman, I think. Bundy, Harvey and Sisco would be a good haul.
