I'm fine with Wood's outing today (though I wish it had gone another inning or so). He looked very good aside from the homers of course. But if the offense doesn't improve, Wood won't matter. Not trying to be glib, but should we care how he looks or what the results are? Giving up 3 HRs in 5 innings isn't good, even if he struck out 15 batters. That's always been the problem with KW You should care how he looks, given it was his first game back, results were not the end all. But he walked nobody had a WHIP of just 1.00 and struck out 6 in 5 IP, while averaging just 14.2 pitches per inning. Those results are all very positive. You're right about the lack of walks, that's a good sign for KW...but in the end it's about production: ERA and Ws. That's why I'm not happy.
