It's gonna suck when the Cubs get a runner on base and Shaw takes the at bat in place of Ballasteros. It was the right move to pinch run for him, but it didn't work out.

Nobody is, but anything to make another dollar. The same reason we will eventually see the MLB playoffs further diluded with additional teams that don't belong.

The optimist in me says maybe it isn't the worst thing in the world. The surgically repaired ligament gets a bit of a forced break from rehab, then he still has an opportunity to contribute down the stretch and into the playoffs. It isn't ideal, but it's extra time for the ligament to fully recover before game action.

Does it make you feel any better that he now also has a triple? His 5th career triple.

I can't quite get used to a tiny sliver of the ball in the zone on the corner being called a strike. Those pitches always look out of the zone.

Too bad Michael Busch couldn't have run to first to draw a throw.

In limited opportunities, Ballesteros hangs in there nicely against lefties.

My hope is that MLB going to make small tweaks to the zone (size/positioning) over a period of time and then implement a fully automated system once they are 100% comfortable with where things are at.

I hate that umpires are taken off the hook because of a half-baked challenge system.
