Maybe Fox will get involved. They could put Cubs games on WPWR or even split them between WFLD and WPWR.

I have never liked Jackson very much, but I realize that he does provide value in his durability. With that said, he certainly isn't going to make or break the Cubs' future. By the time they are ready to compete, he will be nearing the end of his contract. Best case scenario, he is pitching well in a few years and becomes a good value piece that can either be held onto or dealt. Worst case scenario, he just won't be re-signed and will free up some money to sign someone else in 4 years. -
It is somewhat disconcerting to see what tickets are going for on StubHub. It is almost pointless to even bother selling tickets there, with some of the upcoming weekend games being lucky to fetch half of face value. We all knew we were going to lose money, but a lot of people aren't going to be able to sustain or justify these types of losses. I completely expected to take significant losses on weekday tickets, but it is very surprising to me that weekend games are in such low demand. At this point I can't imagine making enough money in the good years to offset the bad years, but I suppose if/when the World Series comes it will all be worth it...

Although Marmol did blow the save and walked 2 guys, he looked pretty good again. If he can continue to pitch like he has recently, maybe he will draw some small level of interest at the trade deadline after all.

What do you mean by this? I have re-read your post multiple times and can't figure out what you were trying to say. Are you saying that 2014 is an extremely deep draft or completely the opposite? Yeah, I meant its a much better draft. Hell, being a year out, it'll probably get better. Seems like they almost always do anyway. Gotcha. That's what I thought, but I got a little confused by the comparison of "this class" to "this one" :D Even in a deep draft, I would still argue that the standings matter because there will almost always be a couple guys who separate themselves from the pack over the course of the year.

According to weather.com, there is a 90% chance of rain at 1:00 with the chances decreasing gradually down to 30% at 4:00. I know they really want to get this game in, but even if the weather clears up somewhere around 4:00, I can't imagine the field being in a playable condition.

Both teams off May 9, Texas in Milwaukee the series before. It'll be then. But would they play a day/night doubleheader on 5/9 with both teams having to travel to play the next day? Or would they play an old-fashioned back-to-back doubleheader? Or would they play 1 game on 5/6 and another on 5/9, avoiding the doubleheader altogether but forcing the Cubs to play games on 27 consecutive days. Not many good options there.

It will be interesting to see how they plan to make up tonight's, and presumably tomorrow's, games.
