  1. it would be amazing if they could keep this quiet until tomorrow. i'd love it. It's like Christmas Eve. Looks like I need to cancel all my meetings tomorrow morning. I have sports radio to listen to.
  2. Kaplan just said Texas and Toronto are ok with the medical reports on Garza and it is just a matter of finding a match in players.
  3. If we can eliminate about 60 more guys who it isn't, then we'll have this figured out!
  4. Someone wake Theo up. He hasn't traded anyone in a few minutes.
  5. With Maholm's favorable contract for next year, I would put his value close to Dempster's. Reed Johnson may be just enough to get the Cubs back to Delgado.
  6. He said the same thing about Delgado for Dempster, so I guess that says something about how much Goldstein actually knows.
  7. Did this really happen? I rewound back through the last inning and didn't see anything.
  8. Unknown Team has been really active tonight.
  9. So then get the Braves deal back on the table and put it in Dempster's hands. It wouldn't be for lack of trying to get fair value from the Dodgers.
  10. Found this quote over at MLBTradeRumors: Who said Garza was off the trade market?
  11. Gotta love the [expletive] in a Cubs shirt who caught that home run and threw it back, then high-fived all his friends in celebration, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the Cardinals just tied the game.
  12. Hey, we're making progress! Someone finally realized that Soriano has value and the Cubs don't need to pay his entire salary while getting nothing in return. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/07/rosenthal-on-orioles-liriano-soriano-diamondbacks.html
  13. I'm hoping maybe it's just something trivial holding the deal up like Dempster not having had a chance to discuss the move with his family yet.
  14. Isn't it in his best interest to accept a trade anyway so that he can sign a contract in the offseason without costing the team a compensation pick? That would seem to increase his market value.
  15. it has no effect on his trade value. I don't buy that. Yes, we are mostly overreacting, but there may be teams sitting on the fence who could be swayed by 1 good or bad outing. not even ned colletti is THAT stupid. It is 1 start out of 15. You can't just completely throw it out and say it will have no bearing on his trade value, especially coming off an injury. In the grand scheme of things, the impact will probably be minimal... but I don't agree with anyone who says it has no effect whatsoever.

  17. Well this must really be driving up his trade value... One batter retired on what should have been ball 4, then 4 straight singles.
