  1. Congrats! Don't let it affect your priorities, suchas Fantasy Baseball...it took my team 3+ years to recover after getting engaged and then married.
  2. He got the first 19 outs Monday Night...don't count yourself out!
  3. No. I was hoping he'd keep the job for at least this week. Now he's going to settle into middle relief and throw a few garbage shut out innings for your team.
  4. If Dusty didn't mess with him, I'd like to think he'd still be hitting .260-.275 with 25-30 homers and playing great defense. I saw Corey play this weekend at Fenway. He still has more holes in his swing than a... Well, you get the picture. His pitch recognition is still awful and if you get one strike ahead of him, he's an out. He keeps getting chances because "speed doesn't slump," but he is what he is; a 4th outfielder. corey patterson has a lifetime 862 ops in at bats where he puts the ball in play on 0-1 BOOM Oh yes, you forgot about his .560 OPS and 3:1 AB:K after 0-1. What ? http://www.millerparkdrunk.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/coreypatterson.jpg
  5. I was not expecting domination by Ted Lilly. That was a big boost. Hopefully my bats stay awake this week. I had no chance last week losing to the high score.
  6. Reed Johnson is a veteran who's been through the wars of a season...

  8. Castro's bat speed and control are incredible for his stage of development.
  9. Kershaw.
  10. Perhaps I just have a different idea of what's fun than you do. To me, building a team that will be very strong for years to come is more fun than eking out a 9th place finish in a 16 team league. With a 2000 point cap and only so many talented prospects that end up staying talented in the bigs, it's difficult to build a team that will stay competitive for years to come. You only get to keep 10 keepers each year, also. While we do have exempt players and a minor league system, this league was designed with playing major league fantasy baseball in mind. Use the minor league system and exempt players to build on this year's team and next. Not just next year's. If you are not going to make the playoffs, sure, sell off what you can. This is true. In this league, it's best to stay as competitive as possible. It's also more fun and gives leverage in trades. In 2009, my team was 8-14. I got in position in July to trade for Posey and a draft pick, and a couple other little deals. I won the league in 2010. I would be strongly opposed to blowing up a team to load up on prospects. In fact, no one will ever win this league loading up on prospects. You become the Marlins. To me, it can only be done with a good draft, good trades, a few strong minors players that come up and cost nothing, and then some luck.
  11. I'm thrilled my team pulled it off last week. I didn't do a good job with my pitching staff and my Red Sox sucked. My title defense will not be easy!
  12. Click the schedule tab - it's there with all the starts.
  13. Oh well...at least Kershaw is scheduled for 3 starts \:D/ That's awfully aggressive so early in the season. Every 5th day (Thurs - Tues - Sun). Hopefully they build him up over the course of the season. He has a chance to be right there with Halladay this year.
  14. Oh well...at least Kershaw is scheduled for 3 starts \:D/
  15. Post a poll until tomorrow night. We can decide by then. I would vote 9 since Week 1 is an 11 day week instead of 7.
  16. Colon was picked at #4.
  17. Lets try this again, I'll take Rudy Owens. 1. NSBB from Bazingas - Harper, Bryce 2. Alamo Stealth from NC Cubs - Taillon, Jameson 3. Quakers - Machado, Manny 4. Sock It Thome - Christian Colon 5. SABR - Randall Delgado 6. Eyes Of Texas - Drew Pomeranz 7. Mighty D-Block- Nick Franklin 8. Habitual Linesteppers - Jean Segura 9. Tootielicious - Gary Sanchez 10. Harry's Budcrew - Jake Odorizzi 11. Fuzzy Logistics - Trey McNutt 12. Kid Rodelo - Manuel Banuelos 13. Galesburg Hand Sanitizers - Chris Archer 14. Ron Washington's Dealers - Rudy Owens 15. Alamo Stealth 16. NSBB
  18. No I won't. I based it on my list from CBS, but now see SABR picked him...doesn't show him picked in Roadkill. I'll make another pick shortly. Hopefully, one that someone else doesn't have...

  20. I'm good with 9...I wish Kershaw could start all 9...
  21. The title defense begins! BTW - I assume for this big week (3/31-4/10) that we will still be limited to 7 starts ?
  22. I'll be flying to DC tomorrow evening, so unless my pick is before 4 est, I will be MIA until around 10 pm est. Sorry for the inconvenience...
  23. A lot of fans were ready to run him out of SF following the "game ball" incident with Russ Ortiz. He acts like he was a god there. It's not all about him. He does not know how to manage an MLB club and he has a complex such that he always has to defend himself. Instead of defending himself, he should just shut up and go manage and see if the record can speak for itself.
  24. Don't believe what you read on the internets...
