  1. Nope. Al and Dan are still freakin obnoxious.
  2. Would anyone be interested in a free yahoo hockey league? I'd like to start one as soon as it begins. If I get at least 6 teams, I'll start one.
  3. Dusty's firing will be a dark day for me and much of Cardinals Nation.
  4. What's wrong with a little bitterness between the rivals? If it's not going to be competitive as far as the pennant race goes, then it might as well be full of anger fueled by a righteous jealousy. :P
  5. Come one CCF, you have to stay. I'd miss your sigs!
  6. Anyone from Peoria know if there's any truth to the rumor that the Bradley Braves are going to be renamed the Bradley Squirrels? That'd suck.
  7. PGA starts tomorrow. Tiger.
  8. Obviously Mac touched some kind of nerve with you. I don't know why. It's not like the Cards were any good with him. Now I'm no Mac apologist or defender, but... Care to procure any of those "documents"?
  9. http://espn.starwave.com/i/magazine/new/mark_prior.jpg I know theyre both trojans and they train together in the offseason, but that wind up is eerily similar.
  10. I hope you're a cop or something in law enforcement.
  11. http://sports.bostonherald.com/sportsColumnists/view.bg?articleid=97391 You have to subscribe so here you go:
  12. Who even cares? Some guys are overachieving, some guys are underachieving. It will more than likely even out. Arguing about how a guy should or shouldn't be performing isn't going to make him perform any better or worse. It won't validate or invalidate their performances. Baseball is unpredictable at times.
  13. According to the Boston Herald, apparantly unnamed sources inside MLB are reporting that as many as 58 players have tested positive, but their names are being withheld as baseball tries to plan for the impending PR disaster it will cause. The article further suggested that among these 58 were at least 2 high-profile players who are bigger stars than Palmeiro. I won't speculate, because there is really no point, but if Pujols tested positive I would be uber depressed. Needless to say, this situation will be interesting to watch unfold. High drama. Players I especially hope aren't among the 58: Any Cardinal - obviously Derrek Lee Dontrelle Willis Miguel Tejada Roger Clemens - It'd be nice to see at least one of our generation's icons to retire without the shroud of steroids over their head Players I wouldn't mind seeing on the list - Manny Ramirez, Sheffield, Bonds, A-Rod, Oswalt, JD Drew, Beltre, Sosa. Bernie Miklacz from the St Louis Post-Dispatch has his own forum. I took this thread from there. Worth the read - Link
  14. 6.1 Innings, 2h, 2 er, 1bb, 5k's in his major league debut. He looked really good tonight. He started to lose a little of his control towards the end, but he still ended up with 50 strikes on 76 pitches. Very good. I really didn't think he would look this good. His poise was very Prioresque, as was his delivery. Now all the kid needs to do is learn how to bend the hat and he'll be set.
  15. Flukes. Will regress to the mean. Talented. May regress to mean, but I wouldn't be surprised if Dave Duncan was the difference. Bad examples just because before coming to the Cards they were both considered to be monstrous talents that underachieved. For whatever reason, the change of scenery just took them to the next step. For Jim I think it was getting into a situation where he was more loved by the fans and that pandered to his pride which made him feel more relaxed. With Carp I think it had everything to do with him not responding to coaching as well with the Blue Jays. Once his career was taken from him and he thought he would never pitch again, he was motivated to do whatever it took to succeed.
  16. I agree. The wrestling kids would always try to lock you up and the TKD kids would always try to do their little steps. Neither works in the chaos of a real fight. The wrestling moves just don't hurt and the routine the TKD kids would do weren't exactly hard to beat. I'm not saying as a rule these kids can't fight, because if you do naturally know how to fight, adding the techniques can help you a lot.
  17. Contract the Dbacks. I guarantee no one here would care.
  18. I'm saying it. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y274/krkhinrich/lucky-leprechaun.jpg Lucky Charms indeed.
  19. They will probably stop as soon as the Cardinals suck. May have something to do with the fact that they don't like the Cardinals. I could be wrong of course, but I doubt it.
  20. I think this is the Dan Haren style tryout for this season. If he's good, he could spot start/long relief down the stretch and in the playoffs and be in the rotation next season. BTW - Remember in the offseason when it was either Marquis or Haren to be rumored in the Mulder deal? ](*,) I said it then and I mean it even more now. Marquis sucks, Haren doesn't.
  21. Yeah plus I'd be a lot more comfortable with The Rajah, Oswalt, and Pettite as far from the playoffs as possible. Call me paranoid, but that's not a three man rotation I'd relish facing in a 5 or 7 game series.
