    Reggie is playing. The Cardinals still have the edge. They will until Houston actually takes the lead I think. Coming into it when it was 0-0 they had the edge and it still holds now that it's 1-1. Your home field argument doesn't hold all that much water considering the Cards are 5-3 in Houston this year.

    History of winning? How is that applicable here? That's about as bad as thinking curses exist. Better manager, health of pitching, and improvement of talent are the reasons why one team has progressed and one has regressed, not history. No, 1908 (not the admin here) and the Cards winning 9 WS have nothing to do with it, since there's no one in either organization that remains from 1908 or 1982 (maybe one area scout roaming North Dakota might remain, but he likely got replaced by a computer in a cubicle in the Cards front office). Not to mention the Reds as well. I gotta say I like the Giants and Dodgers chances for the WS next year.

    This week I've got a battle for the number 2 running back spot that I need some input from. Resident Cowboy fans be objective. Cadillac or Julius Jones? Bucs are playing that Miami defense; Jones is playing the Giants. Who would you play? Or if you want to be super controversial there is an option of sitting Shaun Alexander and playing the aforementioned two backs although I won't do that no matter what you say. *edit* and in my other league who plays out of Jamal Lewis, Steven Jackson, and Cadillac? Jamal plays the browns (his record setting opponent) and Action Jackson plays the Colts. Lewis has blown but maybe this is the week?

    Silver Slugger - Lee I think the AL will be the more compelling race. A-Rod plays defense and is a complete player whereas Ortiz's clutchness is just stupid. Anybody know his stats in late innings of close games? Unreal. Alejandro of course is another story all together. I think that says it well.

    It looked to me that Nunez was heading for the base. That was a shot toward the line, and based on where they were showing Nunez before that pitch, I don't think there's any way that he gets to that ball if he isn't trying to get the runner. No the previous pitch was fouled off but the runner was already almost to third and Nunez was making no move towards the bag whereas Molina was out of his crouch aimed towards second where Grudz was covering. Before the play they showed Tony point to Nunez to play off the base and not cover.

    Rumor has it that Atlanta has a 5 year, 28 million offer on the table and the sides are too close for it to fall through. He should be there shortly.

    Murray has only had one big year, but I'm going to go for it. I like the skilled power forwards in the new NHL. I think they are going to be harder to contain if you can't obstruct. I still think at face value you're getting the better deal. I'm just hoping my feelings about Tkachuk and Murray are right.

    Yeah I had a feeling that wouldn't fly. I was just hoping you were thinking there was no chance Ilya was playing. I hear they're close to a deal. I'm really torn. I don't really want to give up Hejduk, but I think Thachuk will be a monster with the new rules. It all depends on Murray VS. Hejduk. Give me a sec to think...

    Ah...Kovalchuk. Well ok then, new offer. I get: K. Tkachuk (StL - LW) I. Kovalchuk NA (Atl - LW) J. Leopold (Cgy - D) You get: B. Shanahan (Det - LW) V. Prospal (TB - LW) J. Pitkanen (Phi - D) Basically I want Ktachuk because I'm a big homer. If you want to take the chance on Ilya then we can leave he and Prospal out of it and just trade Leopold/Tkachuk for Pitkanen/Shanahan. Oddly enough I had a waiver out for a D man and Pitkanen dropped until you said that. I'll just drop Leopold as soon as we trade and pick up said player probably anyway.

    Hmm, that sounds like a very fair offer, about 10 years ago. Make me an offer with Pitkanen, I like that guy. BTW, I went on the draft site and it said the draft would be at 9 PM EST, and when I got there at that time it was almost done... what gives? I am pretty happy with my team, just curious what happened... Also, it would be nice if my first round pick would actually show up to play in the NHL this season, since I'm pretty sure that whatever stats he puts up in Russia will not count toward our scoring. I don't know about the draft time since I wasn't even there. Who was your first rounder? Datsyuk?

    Brad Thompson is set to replace Al on the playoff roster for the first round. I have no problem with that, but I think we need Anthony for some K stuff out of the pen.
