    I wasn't even aware of this whole referring to all soda as "coke" phenomena. That's [expletive]. Calling it pop is just cheesy. I f I have to choose a generic name for it then Soda for life. Actually I don't really call it any of those. I usually just refer to whatever I'm drinking by it's name. Coke is Coke, Dr. Pepper is Dr. Pepper, and so on.

    Yeah, go ahead and alienate one of your key clubhouse leaders by trading for Javy Lopez. That's what you want to do. Seriously, there is a better solution for your outfield than trading for Lopez and sticking someone who has never played the OF in the major leagues (or anywhere to my knowledge) in RF. That's assinine. I can't actually believe I replied to this ignorant post. Barrett is one of the best catchers in the NL. How about filling holes instead of trying to put together a team George Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman would be proud of. Let's put A-Rod at 3rd, keep jeter at SS, and put Tony Womack in Center! That worked well right?

    Are you kidding me? Erstand can't hold Lee's jock. Since 2001 his highest OPS has been .746, and only one other time has it been above .700. Seriously. EDIT Never mind, I thought you were comparing position by position, not lineup slot by lineup slot. I'd still go Barrett over Erstad.

    I disagree. There's not much dropoff sliding Reyes in for Morris, and add Rolen. Our lineup with Luna, Taguchi, and JRod would put us ahead of Milwaukee. Our bullpen could screw us over, but not if current rumors of a Rincon and Dotel signing are true. Probably aren't though.

    .Thumbs up. Hopefully Walt pulls a Hendry and signs Jacque Jones now. And Jones will go .305 / .365 / .460 b/c its the Cards. I doubt it.

    I think they'll give 5 years just because the have to fill a SP, a 2b, and 1 or 2 outfielders and with the remaining FA's I just don't they can do that unless they sign Burnett.

    The Cards brass is meeting right now because Burnett told his agent to give them one more shot for the 5th year, and now Gammons is saying he'll sign with the Jays within 24 hours.

    Apparently Pujols is in for the DR and Carp is out for the US. I got one of my two wishes. Just say no Al.

    Maybe he was getting the news from Burnett's agent. I know, I'm just saying I'm not believing either way until its official. Last year Gammons said Renteria to Cards was official only to learn he was wrong 5 minutes later.
