    An article I read in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch said Illinois' receiver recruits are the 3rd best class in the nation behind USC and Auburn. Where exactly did that come from? Zook is getting it done.

    I just read this thread to see if I still didn't care about Jeff Bagwell. And I don't. Screw Jeff Bagwell. If he stays that's just millions of dollars of dead weight so I'd kind of like to see him stay.

    I think everybody getting all sensitive over McGwire vs Sosa is irrelevant. McGwire never got caught taking steroids. Sosa never got caught taking steroids. I believe they both used, but I can only speculate. The corked bat is a completely unrelated incident and shouldn't be brought into an argument about steroids. Using the corked bat as an example of Sammy's character can only work if Sammy lied about only having it for exhibition purposes. I don't know Sammy, Sammy has never lied to me that I know of definitively. I don't know anything beyond my own assumptions. My assumptions are that McGwire got lucky in that his body started breaking down and he knew steroids would become an issue so he got out. My assumption is that Sammy stopped using when testing started and his production suffered greatly from it. Any arguing between people with only assumptions is pointless. Especially when the two sides are already predisposed to disagreements.

    Because Alan Benes and Matt Morris were just too dominant for us to resign. They both play for the Yankees now. We just need some arms to fill in around Rick and Bud.

    Oh so true. Why don't they try and get Wayne McClain? They would get every peoria player they wanted. No clue. It would make sense. Les is kind of their golden boy though. It might take a lot to get him fired. Especially the job he has done recruiting (Ruffin, O'Bryant, Franklin).

    Did he redshirt? His HS was in my hs's conference, and he graduated the same year I did I thought ('04). Yes he redshirted last year. Getting on the court this year, he can jump out of the gym, just needs to get his confidence built up. Do you know why Dearon dropped out. Apparently he's transferring to Bradley in Peoria. That's be a pretty big get for BU.

    I made the Swiss/German/Scottish team. Wish me luck. BTW - I'm having a hard time deciding which team to play for. Swiss - They will probably forfeit before the game in order to stay neutral, but I'd probably get paid a lot. German - My best bet if I want to win anything. Their mechanical determination would surely grind it's way into the medal round. Scotch - Won't win, won't get paid, but it'd be a whole lot more fun than the other two.

    I thought he grew up a Cubs fan? If so I feel for him in that picture. I was forced to be on the Cubs 4 years in a row in little league.
