More than Marquis' bad season is the fact that Walt doesn't do FA's. He doesn't like to commit to big fa contracts. Marquis will be dealt for an Of'er. If the Cards don't want Marquis for the price that he'll command this year, what makes you think that another team will, and that they'll be willing to give up something of value for him? Because other teams need starting pitching. You don't think a team like the Devil Rays, Reds, etc wouldn't want Marquis for around 6 mil?
Everything 92+ is too fast for everyone except Edmonds (when healthy), Rolen, and Pujols. I'm not sure Jimmy can hit 92+ anymore. His shoulder, wrist, and ribs are hurt. That could slow down the whole swinging, turning, and striding thing.

No joke. Especially since that was beyond a no doubter. I'm pretty sure everyone in the park stopped for a few seconds to watch it with him. Also I just spoke to Mike Barrett and he said to watch out for retaliation only if Oswalt is about to come out of the game and knows nothing will happen to him in return.
Yeah. The only game they lost was the save Lidge blew against the Cubs the last series of the year. I'm light headed. Anyone else think it's hilarious that Garner didn't call for the IBB considering the strike out artist himself was on deck?
A Sox fan at work today called the Cards the Buffalo Bills of the baseball world. Ouch! What does that make the Sox? Wow. I can't think of a proper football analogy considering no NFL team has ever cheated away the super bowl.
I'll rearrange the bold so he CFTN understands. Actually they were division winners all 5 times. He acknowledges the Cubs '03 title but contends that the Cards were co-champs in '01. '00, '01, '02, '04, and '05. That's 5 div. titles in 6 years.
Kenny isn't a genius because I don't think there's a GM out there with a Mensa membership, but he put a good team together and got lucky with his staff. Other than Garcia and Beuherle there was just a bunch of talented guys who never put it together (Garland, Hermanson, Jenks, Contreras...). Add to that luck the good signing of Tad Iguchi and Ozzie's ability to get the best from his players and you have a good team. Plus Ozzie is a great post season manager. He keeps the guys loose and doesn't ever get the patented Tony La Russa "My sphincter is incredibly tight right now" playoff grimace.
