  1. No Curry, no Deng. I kinda expected it honestly.
  2. I can see how a casual observer could be disappointed with this team, but I'm more than satisfied with their progress. It's the youngest team in the postseason. Key members of the young core have improved this year, especially during the playoffs. Heading into the off season, the team has a guaranteed top 5 pick in this year's draft and significant cap space. The Bulls are in as strong a position as nearly any team in the league moving forward. There's room whenever you'd like to root for the most successful sports franchise in Chicago.

The Bulls' best chance at drafting Noah was likely this year, unfortunately. I can see the Knicks being in the lottery next year, but not this bad again.
  4. The league has a preliminary web site set up. It's going to be hard for me to resist the chance to see prospects from MLB and NPB teams play together and against each other in paradise, although I suspect air fare will be a powerful deterrent.

They are also officially "out of their minds". That said -- I do respect their decisions as not many could hold off even a year on that pay day. Brewer and Horford have a good shot to improve their draft stock with another year in school. Noah's stock can only go down; he has little chance of being the number 1 pick next year if Oden declares.

The NBA has released their early-entry list for the draft. DraftExpress has posted the list along with commentary. Florida's big three were telling the truth a month ago; they are officially out of this year's draft.
  7. Looked like an ankle sprain to me. He could miss games 5 and 6. That would be done for the season if the Bulls dropped those two games. But I don't think he's out indefinitely or the Bulls are lying about the seriousness of his injury.
  8. Spanish doesn't have the letter Č, so it has to be NO-SEE-ONI. It is a soft C but Nocioni is an Italian last name. He's the son of Italian immigrants, and he's a citizen in Argentina and in Italy. Another reason why Bargnani could be a great fit for the Bulls.
  9. It's the 2003 Final Four all over again for Wade.
  10. I'm all for drafting Bargnani, and they should be able to sign Przybilla, but I think Roy, Brewer and Collins will be off the board when the Bulls pick at 16. Rudy Fernández and Maurice Ager are each 6-5, but either one would be an overdraft at 16. I wonder if getting a big 2 is a priority for Paxon anymore anyway, given Hinrich's and Gordon's play against the Heat. I know I've been impressed.
  11. I remember it being a three year deal but I'm not having any luck verifying that. Also suspect he'll be a restricted free agent once his current contract expires, but I'm not sure about that either.
  12. You'll get no argument from me on that.
  13. And he weighs 240 and plays like he weighs 220. Allen weighs 255. That's what I meant by undersized. Thomas is not a post presence. He might get more defensive attention than Allen, but that's because of his three-point range.
  14. Like a Cubs night game, it was a late arriving crowd, so there were a lot of empty seats at tip. Pretty much full halfway into the second quarter. What a great game. My voice is a bit hoarse this morning still from all the yelling. Do you have tickets for everything? They weren't very hard to get. Did you try? Sure did. Didn't feel like standing for 55 dollars though. Huh, I paid $49 a piece for two tickets in section 302, row 13 (very close to the top). I logged into ticketmaster right at 11am the first Saturday they went on sale. Do you try then or wait until they clinched? It was late last week. I would have loved to have scored some sweet 12 dollar seats :D I thought about those but I hate watching basketball from that perspective (end to end).
  15. That wasn't your original point. You were bagging on Skiles because the Bulls got rid of Thomas, and I'm saying the Bulls are a better team without him because they have two significantly better players at the 3. Sure, Thomas doesn't really fit in at the 4, but I'd rather have him there than Malik Allen. I wouldn't. Their production is almost identical over the past couple of years and Thomas is undersized for the 4. He's also a poor defender in the paint and he prefers to play away from the basket. Just a bad fit all around for the Bulls.

  20. Whatever. Thomas produced a 12.21 per in 71 games last year. He's a sub-par player at this point. You should pick a different champion for your anti-Skiles crusade. I'm not convinced he's the best coach for this team long-term, but getting rid of Thomas didn't hurt the team at all.
  21. You should account for the pace difference between the Suns' and the Bulls' offenses before you start rattling off numbers. Thomas produced a 12.23 PER during the regular season compared to 15.86 for Deng and 16.12 for Noch. He's not the answer at SF for the Bulls by a long shot. Paxson doesn't and he made the right call with Thomas.
  22. I fail to see how getting rid of Tim Thomas proves this point, or how that indifferent underachiever would've made a positive impact for the Bulls. Your blind squirrel analogy can be applied to Thomas' game 1 performance against the Lakers.
  23. Hopefully, he'll pitch so well, they'll bump him up to the 1st.
  24. Wow, this is quite ridiculous. Agreed.
