  1. You have a feeling....yet no facts on which to base that feeling. I have a feeling that Pierre is in regression and what we saw of him in 2005 will be what to expect in 2006 if not worse. I can't back it up, but I think you should trust my feeling. Well you do have Yoda as your avator, so you may know something I don't. In conclusion, the "cw" hasn't been debunked since there's not 100 years of stats on the topic. Anyone else getting sick of the overuse of this abbreviation in this thread?
  2. Also I think I heard that they waived him to make room for signing Kendry Morales.
  3. Wow wow wow. Why and how could you sign Ryan to setup??? Also I think the only thing that Pierre proved last year is that he is not that good.
  4. C- Mauer 1B-Pujols (how has nobody put him yet?) 2B-Cantu SS-Peralta 3B-Wright LF-Cabrera CF-Sizemore RF-Gomes SP-Peavy RP-Madson CL-Rodriguez
  5. Hahaha! I think I just heard Chris Burke tell you to keep it down. And how about Berkman? He's gets 10 HRs a year hitting "cans of corn" to the opposite field in that place. He only hit 8 dingers at Minute Maid last year. Lance is awesome, don't knock him.
  6. Well for one thing our SS last year was Neifi for pretty much the entire season, not Nomar. Also Giles is a huge upgrade over Burnitz.
  7. Does he even hardly have any control over his powers?
  8. Batman may be better than Spiderman but SUPERMAN is a hundred times better than Batman. Batman doesnt even have any super powers!
  9. why is voluntarily leaving ones job spelled the same as signing a new contract to stay at ones job? It is so confusing.
  10. They also voted for Dusty as best manager so that tells me that the players know very little.
  11. The White Sox were a winning ballclub, the Cubs weren't. The Cardinals were a winning ballclub, the Cubs weren't.
  12. The mets need a 1b. I would try to get Petit.
  13. And if they did it would be for a lot more than a 34 year old declining catcher who himself makes quite a lot.
  14. Jim Bowden is not their general manager.
  15. Well, to be fair, the Astros DID tie for the best home record in all of baseball this year. And their record is even better when the roof is closed (holds the crowd noise), so they've made a point of closing the roof for this series. So their park does seem to have some quirky advantages that other parks don't. Still I don't consider that to be an "excuse". You play where you play........ you still have to get the job done. This isnt neccessarily directed at you but Its called HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE! That is the purpose of a home field. You are supposed to know the your home park there and take advantage of playing your home games there. I just dont get this bitching and moaning about the field being small that Im hearing a lot of Cards fans(not neccessarily you) I mean the fences are the same for both teams. Another home run just hit due to the short porch in left that will give the cards fans reason to complain.
  16. And with new ownership they will have a little bit of money to spend this offseason.
  17. You could probably say the same thing about the "talent" to get timely hits.
  18. That is an awesome word. And Preston wilson was born in Bamberg.... so he'd be the Bumgap from Bamberg. Sweet.
  19. This year was the first year in 6 years he has had less than 500 ABs. I'm not worried. But hip issues on a guy who relies so heavily on speed, has to be a concern. I'd say your previous point about the Wrigley grass might be more of a worry than his hip. As long as it's not degenerative or anything, hip flexors generally heal. Small sample size but he did hit .333 (17-51) from 2002-2005 in wrigley. Too small of a sample for me to get excited. I totally agree but just thought I would bring some pertinent information to the discussion.

  21. Wow, I would be insanely happy if this deal went down. Especialy if Giles ends up on the Northside. Would it work out financially to sign Furcal and Giles because it seems that Jim is really set on Furcal. If it is not then I would much prefer Cedeno and Giles. Also I'm sure there is someone out there who we could spin Lowe off to. How reputable are the people that you heard this rumor from?
  22. Does that avatar mean you like Joe Torre and want him to manage the cubs?
  23. Did you tell him that one win away is no sure thing?
