  1. In my opinion, putting up a 276/404/538 line at AA in a pitchers league means there is a pretty decent chance you are ready to stick on a major league roster and at least contribute as a pinch hitter/backup.
  2. http://img368.imageshack.us/img368/34/jwillstrike4xe.jpg Jerome Williams game by game strike percentages. Don't know what it means if anything. Looks like, a few starts aside, he was right around 60%.
  3. While looking at Willams' game logs I found something pretty peculiar. Jerome started the games on 7/7, 8/8 and 9/9. Pretty pretty interesting.
  4. Carlos Quentin is probably my favorite prospect and I would love him on the Cubs. That said, the Tuscon Sidewinders play in an extreme hitters park so his number must be taken with a grain of salt. Also not sure if he has the defense to man CF. I would definately go after him with the logjam Arizona has in the of/1b if I were Hendry. EDIT: especially if we get an all hit/not so much defense LF through trade (Manny, Dunn, etc. ) because then Quentin would fit in perfectly in RF.
  5. All that said I would prefer Williams over Morris just because of the price tag. Has Williams hit arbitration yet?
  6. Is ERA+ just a relationship between the pitchers ERA and the League average ERA? Like a 100 would be exactly league average and >100 would be above league average and <100 would be below league average? If so I do not put much stock into since I would much rather look at HR/9, K/BB, K/9 and BB/9 when predicting future success.
  7. I would take Morris over most guys just because of the price tag. I think anyways, I guess in this market he could get 8+
  8. without the plate discipline and past success of course.
  9. What is the level of competition in the Venezuela league?
  10. We already have Soto who is a pretty good defensive catcher himself and he provides a lot more offense than reyes. DFA'ing Greenberg and not rostering Sing are the two most dissappointing moves to me. Not nearly like leaving Sisco unprotected though.
  11. A bench player making league minimum with pop and plate discipline is a fairly valuable commidity in my mind.
  12. The problem is that his current contract can be voided after this season if he chooses to :( And if he puts ups the "monster MVP numbers" as expected, then he is going to be worth the new contract. This is a win-win situation for the Cubs, and ARam. Here's to a .340/.420/ 47 hr/135 rbi's type monster season. I'm pretty sure it's Aramis that has the option to get out of the contract so if he puts up that line he will undoubtedly opt for free agency and get 15+ from someone.
  13. I am going to be pretty upset if he gets picked and ends up sticking with someone.
  14. Its probably cuz Pablo Ozuna is not going to convince any of his free agent buddies to sign with the sox.
  15. That's a character from The Office. Don't know the actor's name though, or his character's, even though I watched it last night. I do know that he convinced a coworker that it was Friday when it was really Thursday though. The character is Jim. His real name is John Krasinski. I like how he gives each of my posts a thumbs up. A stamp of approval, if you will. Jiiiiim Halpert...Faaaaat Halpert I love that show so much.
  16. Since it is the 18th, any news on what the 40 man is and if Sing was added to it? Who else would we be at a risk of losing if they are not moved onto it?

  18. So you fault Hendry for acquiring a guy who, if he would have performed at the same level he had all season or his whole career, would have given the team a huge spark? It's not Hendrys fault he sucked as a cub.
  19. I have a feeling Nomar will end up in L.A. Last I had read though, Milwaukee is thinking of holding onto Overbay. Maybe Milwaukee wants to bring in a nice haul of them shiny dodger prospects and they put themselves in a good position to do that by stating their intentions of keeping Overbay.
  20. I'm sure you can look back to find out the reaction because we did trade those guys! haha! Btw we have less than one half the payroll of the yankees so dont put us in a class with them.
  21. I don't see it happening, but I would like it to happen. Would rather just go get Giles without having to give up any players though.
  22. At least he doesnt have reverse splits like Remmy so Dusty can't blatently misuse him.
  23. I don't think I like a single thing that has been done this offseason.
