  1. He's the only player on the team in the Minor/Major leagues. I think they have two: Armitage and Lamont Youre clearly right. Just so you know, this is where I pulled my claim from http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/worldclassic2006/columns/story?columnist=crasnick_jerry&id=2361844 I only know because I was up until 3:30 the other night doing homework, and any kind of baseball is better than infomercials about seaweed or total gyms.
  2. During the Canada/South Africa game the other day Stoney was talking about how the SA manager limited Michaels and Armitage to under 50 pitches so they would be eligable to go today, so I think it is for everyone.

  4. You think Ronny is going to have a bad day I think he is saying Todd Walker will not catch his throws.
  5. IIRC,That was the 1st time in his career. Not that he hasn't been oft injured, but: 2001 - 34gs, 215.2 innings Not the first time really. He averages 161.2 innings over his career. I don't think you factored in the entire year he missed.
  6. This could really kill my Sim league season. :(
  7. I think with the offense he has and the fact that willingham should give you at least average catcher production (check out his minor league numbers) he should be fine. With the roster the Marlins have they have to let him start somwhere. If he doesnt actually catch at all this year can he lose his eligability there?
  8. .298/.415/.713 in 330 AB If that was what that notation was supposed to be (BA/OBP/SLG) It would be amazing.
  9. DLEE!! Francouer sure is slow and cannot slide worth a darn.
  10. Except for the moron constantly banging junk together.
  11. What has the team done for him? They are employing him and paying him an exhorbitant contract. What else could they do? Foot massages? paying a man a contract and giving him a foot massage arent in the same ballpark. hell, they arent even in the same sport! have you ever given a foot massage?
  12. I think Omar has been around long enough so as to not need much bunting practice during spring.
  13. Why did they pick Beltre as the starter over Aramis?
  14. I'd like to see them emphasize a bench where guys can do something really well, as opposed to a bench that does a lot of things rather poorly. There definitely is room for a guy like Pagan on a bench, but you have to build the rest of your bench to fit him in, and you have to go with 6 guys. Blanco Hairston Perez Sing/Restovich Mabry Pagan You get a RH slugger to help take out Jones whenever possible, plus a guy who runs really well if/when you have a pinch run situation. I'm all for the six-man bench. I'd love to see Mabry replaced with Theriot, though. I know that isn't going to happen. If only he could play a serviceable 3rd I would have really liked to see Sing get a shot to replace Mabry.
  15. Its nice to see Dopirak having a good spring so far. Lets hope he can keep it up for the next 600 at bats.
  16. Anyone know what pitcher Dope hit the home run off of?

  18. How the heck did we get this guy for Latroy?
  19. Thanks for all the help so far. So the only cub games that they would show would be the ones already on wgn etc. ?
  20. I'm thinking about giving it a try this year. Can anyone give me the rundown on it? A few questions that come to mind: Can you save games to your hard drive to watch any time/burn to dvds/etc.?, what/how many spring training games do you get? If a spring game whose home team is in my blackout area (cubs) but not on wgn/comcast/wciu/cltv would i still get it? Can I watch blacked out games after they have been played? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  21. I think that would be overpaying. Those guys are beyond prospect. Quentin and Jackson have done nothing but hit all the way up the minor league ladder and I'm guessing the chances that either of them fail to the point of being worthless is very high and the chances of them being solid/great players is relatively high. At the very least they should outperform thier contracts for a total of about 12 player-years for the dbacks. And then Upton. Upton could very well develop into every bit the player that Cabrera is and add another 6ish years. So the dbacks would basically be trading 18 years of undervalued possible star talent for 3 years of higher salary who would then most likely sign with the yanks or whoever offered the most money (which will be a lot). Especially considering the fact that the dbacks are going to live and die with the young players and may not even be ready to contend before Cabrera is in pinstripes.
  22. I shove one in my wallet and I usually carry that thing around, so yes.
