  1. This guy at least sounds better than the jokers we got for Williamson.
  2. Just heard on the Score (grain of salt) from Offman that a Walker to the Padres deal is just about done.
  3. Young wouldn't be a bad pickup. Best case scenario: Maddux for LaRoche and then make the rumored Ramirez deal. do you think LaRoche would be ready to step into a starting role next year?
  4. Not as much as the Beatles or Led Zeppelin... I don't know what your thoughts are, I'm just putting it out there. You must be joking. If Cliff Burton-era Metallica can be called over-rated, than so can the Beatles and Zeppelin. I'll agree 90's and later Metallica is nothing special, but the first Metallica 3 records are as much masterpieces as any Zep or Beatles recordings. Uhh, sorry, but no. Nothing Metallica has ever done can compare to Revolver or Rubber Soul in the "masterpiece" category. For that matter, nothing they've done can compare to Sgt. Pepper, The White Album, Abbey Road... well if you need to be picky, I'd say that Master of Puppets is the best heavy metal record ever made. If you don't want to put it up with beatles stuff, fine, but it's definitely one of the best records ever made I'm on your side Derwood, but ...And Justice For All was absolutely unbelievable musically. 9 songs and 63 minutes of pure awesomeness. I understand the argument that they went too far with AJFA but I absolutely love that album. IMO opinion it's not significantly better than Master of Puppets and I will gladly listen to either any day, but I think AJFA is a bit better. ...and justice would be closer in my eyes if the album didn't sound like crap. the songs are superb, but it's a bad recording. the lack of (or really turned down) bass hurts it also. Yeah what bass. I thought they did it to be jerks to Newsted. I know it pissed him off you could barely hear it. And yes.....Masters of Puppets is a MASTERPIECE. Sanitarium people. For some reason I preffered "Ride the Lighting" over both Master of Puppets and ...And Justice for All.
  5. One of my favorite bands versus one of my most hated bands. Easy choice.
  6. sounds like he's just the type of player LaRussa likes. he'll love the cornrolls too. Is it cornrolls or cornrows? I always though it was cornrows. hmm
  7. I think one of the only things that makes Tejada more valuable than Aramis is that he plays shortstop, and don't the angels intend on him playing third?
  8. from the BA prospect handbook on Aybar's defense(and more): Sounds a lot like a certain shortstop that we all know and love.
  9. As someone who has The Who as their avatar, you surprise me with your choice. Have you never listened to Beggar's Banquet? No, I have never really gotten into the Stones.
  10. Aren't little nagging injuries like that, pretty much the definition of "the grind"?
  11. The Rolling stones never did much for me, and I like the kinks hits, So I am going with them.
  12. If AGonz wouldn't have been there to hit some clutch dingers earlier in the year, we may not have even made the playoffs.
  13. I really don't like this list all that much.
  14. The yanks have taken a step forward lately with Phil Hughes stepping up and youngun' Jose Tabata performing real well. Eric Duncan has been overrated for about 3 years and after that there is a drop off.
  15. Colon left today's game after 1 inning with an injury so Maddux might help as well. ARam and Cedeno for Wood, Mathis and Kendrick. Maddux to the other LA for Laroche. Laroche, Mathis, and EPatt for Cabrera. Lee/Kendrick/Wood/Cabrera infield in 2007? I could live with that. I don't think any of the teams besides us would make those deals.
  16. I am really surprised that the Cubs are interested in Ethier. He is the anti Hendry guy: not much in the way of tools, good on base skills, past statistical results, etc... He is/was one of my favorite prospects and I would be ecstatic if the Cubs acquired him.
  17. Haven't I been saying this for the past year? And I think he can become a very good specialist! While the team stinks though, he needs to be given every possible chance to start because that is the role where he would give the team the most value. You can't just throw him into a role as unimportant as loogy after 8 sporadic major league starts. Especially when there are no playoff implications.
  18. Who is this Bronder fella that started for Daytona? That is my mothers maiden name so maybe he is a distant relative.
  19. Wow, I am really surprised this is so close. My vote gave Pink Floyd a 11-10 advantage.
