  1. Has the Redline been really slow going for anyone else this year? Every single time I've taken it this year, there has been workers on the track and delays and instead of taking 15ish minutes it takes about half hour. And its really hot and cramped and I hate it. I hate the Redline. The Last game I went to I just took the brown line and walked to wrigley from the Belmont stop.
  2. That sounds like it could be one of the oldest teams in history!

  4. My thoughts excatly. Same happens to me. This is the reason why I don't want to trade with them unless we get an arm or a leg. Whenever a Sox fan talks smack to me, I just want to sock them in the face. That's how much I hate their fans. I also hate Cardinals fans. They are the most obnoxious people ever. Wanting to punch somebody who talks smack to you? About baseball no less? I'm no shrink but that's neither healthy nor normal. I want to sock people in the face all the time, but the fact that I have the self control not to makes me both healthy and normal.
  5. I want an offense that scores runs. I don't care how.
  6. Agree wholeheartedly. Hendry is not one to sell high and he will never do this. We need a new gm.
  7. Using derogatory sexual slurs is not ever right.
  8. Is Stock more likely to get drafted as a catcher or a pitcher?
  9.  #-o Nice read, looking forward to more.
  10. One more reason to get rid of the 7th inning stretch singers. This is just like Ozzie's little act a couple years ago. It is all about self promotion. Maybe it will start an escalation of who can use the most vile language without the Cubs permission during their rendition. Bring on Andrew Dice Clay, another shining example of how swearing makes you hilarious to a certain fan base, and I am sure he will really show it to "the man". I personally feel that the guest interview is the most interesting part of most games lately, especially when its an old ballplayer.
  11. Is he the guy who dropped due to his college committment?
  12. I love Sean!!!!! I really regret not going to see him pitch last year.
  13. check out my paint skills. http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/3070/threestoogess6qn.jpg
  14. I would almost say it could be an exciting time to be a Royals fan. They have a great ballpark, Alex Gordon, and a great new gm (I am guessing he will be anyways) that will be able to use the yearly high draft picks to build up the farm.
  15. Gotta be more than the 10 that Rusch had in relief last month, eh? I think you mean 9
  16. They just mentioned that Samardzija (sp?) threw for Rothschild this morning, did he sign yet? Can he throw for the team before he signs?
  17. okay? You said dominate when you should have said dominant I am thinking about going to the Chiefs/Cougars game tonight. Could anyone enlighten me as to what kind of stuff Atkins has? I believe Williamson is slated to pitch in relief for the Chiefs as well.
  18. When comparing the chances of success in Football/Baseball you must also remember how slim the chances of actually amounting to anything is for pitching prospects. Most likely whatever he gets as his original contract/signing bonus is what he will make, because of either never developing, getting injured, etc... A much larger portion of football prospects amount to something and at least get one free agent contract. (I don't actually know this but it seems logical) I think either way he will make enough money off whatever signing bonus he gets to last a lifetime (as long as he is smart with it) and he will therefore probably chose whatever sport he enjoys more.
  19. Tell me why Jones is a big mistake? Half this board wanted to spend more than $30 million to bring Brian Giles on the team. Note that Hendry might have been right about Jones and this board might have been wrong about Giles: OPS Jones .851 Giles .785 SLG Cedeno .402 Giles .397 Platoon Jones and Murton in LF next year, and you'll have an OPS over .900 in LF. That's some nice work, but it's not that simple. Jones plays in the NL Central, home of the: 3rd, 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 16th best pitching staffs in the NL. Brian Giles plays in the NL West, home of the: 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th and 9th best pitching staffs in the NL. Brian Giles plays in the absolute toughest hitting park in baseball. San Fran, LA and Arizona are other tough hitters parks in his league. Jacque Jones plays most of his games in arguably the best hitting division in baseball. If Brian Giles was playing for the Cubs, his numbers would be considerably better. Side note: Brian Giles can get the ball back to the cut off man on the fly. I was just about to make the exact same post. Giles ops away from petco is about .850 and that is while playing a good chunk of games in PacBell and Dodger Stadium.
  20. I don't believe we could possibly get enoufh from the worthless "trade to whoever will take them" guys to assemble a package worthy of Cabrera. I would definately include Marshall, Hill and a couple other prospects for Cabrera though.
  21. I sure wish his college numbers looked better.
  22. the original poster indicated that Encarnacion could possibly move to first, and that we would also make a deal for Josh Fields from the sox to man third. Personally I would much rather try and use Aramis in some sort of ARod deal. who's to say the sox would even consider trading fields (especially to the cubs)? even if they would by some outside chance (and the cubs would most likely have to way overpay for him btw) whos to say he's ready to play in the majors every day? I am not a huge fan of Fields (he is putting up some monster numbers this year though) and I would probably not target him. It was the original posters idea.
