  1. Don't know where all of this talk about Cassie being the asking price for Cabrera. Marlins can ask but, they're not going to get a Cassie level prospect from the Cubs or anyone else for Cabrera. Cabrera, while good, is an injury risk and he's never pitched more than 99 innings (he's currently at 80) whomever takes him on is taking quit a bit of risk as well. Cabrera can definitely be had for someone other than Cassie or Wiggins.
  2. I saw that as well, maybe, the league is starting to figure out he's having trouble with high fastballs? Appears up and in is hole for him.
  3. Shaw working on a 0-20 over his last 6 games only 3 K's. Really, since a good week in early June he hasn't done much, if anyone ever needed just a hint of success it's Shaw. Ultimately, while Cam Smith looks all world, I do believe Shaw will just as good if not better. Just not anytime in the near future.
  4. That's what I was thinking, realistically it appears the Cubs chances are slim to none. Rodon was blown up in last start maybe, and I know I'm grasping at straws, akin to hitter, he's in a slump?
  5. I mean they've played Nick Lopez and Brujan at 3B, LeMahieu' probably a tick or two better.
  6. LeMahieu was released, don't know why the Cubs can't pick him and give a few games at 3B. He did play 3B a decent number of games in 2024 hell, if they're willing to give a Lopez a chance, might as well take a flyer on LeMahieu. Such BS has worked for the Brewers and Vaughn, don't know why it can't work for a few games with the Cubs.
  7. Is Suarez not a rental? Shouldn't take a whole lot, if Arizona moves him, it's going to come down to which set of lottery tickets they prefer. I don't think they'll be able to get any major league ready talent for him.
  8. Twins get a well deserved ass kicking by the Cubs. Nice to see the Cubs bounce back finally take advantage of the many middle FB's and hanging sliders they saw.
  9. Oh for sure, definitely thought that schmoe was going to catch it, on replay though, it wasn't close.
  10. horsefeathers finally, they hit a meatball, about time.
  11. Hey, there is someone who can hit a hanging slider after all!!
  12. WTF was that? The opposition not taking advantage of a two on, no out, is that allowed?
  13. Shaw literally struck out on two hanging sliders, it's got to be beyond frustrating for him.
  14. Paddock today isn't exactly good, I'd like to think someone could take advantage of, I'm certain, a decent amount of meatballs they'll see.
  15. Have not been remotely competitive these last two games, be awfully horsefeathers nice if they could manage some fight today. Getting the first inning lead off batter for the Twins OUT would be a start.
  16. Homework for tomorrow don't spot the Twins a two run lead in the bottom of the first. In fact, I'll make a prediction, if the Cubs hold the Twins scoreless in the first tomorrow, they'll win.
  17. True, there's also his continued inability to put people away when ahead in he count that showed up again.
  18. Wow, an OPS of almost 800 when the count is 0-2, just horsefeathers unbelievable.
  19. I'm sorry, thought the Cubs had a very good chance tonight. But, this game is way over, it's not a matter of if they lose, just by how much. Hopefully, they don't get swept tomorrow.
  20. Does anyone know the opponents BA vs. Horton in 0-2 and 1-2 counts? It's got to be well, well above average.
  21. Festa has hung a few sliders is someone going to make him pay?
  22. Better question: would any even notice or care if he went into hiding?
  23. Most especially with likes of Durbin, Ortiz, Collins and Vaughn supplying the offense, that's not sustainable, at some point it'll dry up.
