  1. Don't come at them with numbers and evidence, it's all Brewers are better, blah, blah, blah. Look at the division, the Brewers were unbeatable for a month and yet only won it by five games over a Cubs team dragged down by injuries. As you've suggested the numbers don't jive nor do they suggest the Brewers are superior to the Cubs.
  2. Also, lets remove the Brewers best SP and hitter for the playoffs, I'm certain that'll have no effect whatsoever.
  3. Speaking of Shaw what'll happen first - the Cubs score more than 4 runs or Shaw puts the ball in play (bunts don't count)? If it's Qunitana tomorrow and Shaw can't do more than swing and miss three times he's truly pathetic. I'm still a believer in Shaw and truly believe we're going to see a big time improvement in 2026, right now, he's useless with the bat.
  4. I still maintain it's real easy to look good against, thus far, ****** Cubs pitching. Let's see how "good" they are vs. some quality pitching.
  5. Collins is about as close to being a star as Matt Shaw is to being a star. Look at the numbers. And by, any measure over a larger sample size Vaughn is still sh*t on a stick.
  6. It's real easy to look good against a tiring Boyd and struggling Shota, let me see Turang, Collins and Vaughn do the same against the likes of Snell, Ohtani and Yamamoto. And let's completly discount Moises and Cassie putting up comparable or better minor league numbers, let's just write then off now.
  7. Yeah, for all their little engine that could vibes they really haven't a chance against the Dodgers. Dodgers pitching, now that they have the luxury of moving Glasnow, Sasaki and Sheehan to their pen, is a very bad match up for them and probably all of baseball. horsefeathers think about that, Horton injury' not withstanding, Glasnow and Sasaki would quite probably be the Cubs games 1 and 2 starters vs. the Brewers.
  8. This is going to happen, don't think it'll be now. More like November-December.
  9. Offensively they'll be right there with any of those teams, defensively well, not much to say on that front.
  10. A scoreless top of the first in game 3 would be a great start. Something, anything, positive could snowball and have a big effect.
  11. + Astros' reliever, who while effective in 25, has metrics strongly suggesting a downturn in performance.
  12. King or Cease are true TOR starters types, I think one of them will be a Cub.
  13. The unfortunate part of their schedule is that the really difficult stretch aligns with when I expect them to hit their offensive stride. Late November into December Caleb and the offense will be cooking it'll make the Bears ultra-dangerous for somebody. My guess is the Niners or Packers, Eagles and Lions are a level above everyone else in the NFC.
  14. At this point don't know if I'm going to bother wasting time on game 3. Maybe, I'll tune back in to watch the Dodgers finish off the Brewers. At least, they beat the Padres and advanced one round which will be more than the Phillies can say. Hell, the Phillies aren't even going to win a game in the 2025 post season.
  15. If Quintana is going for game 3 I'd like to see Willi at 3b, I'd be willing to trade offense from anywhere for defense.
  16. I agree the team is not better with Tucker but, the best indicator of future injury is past injury history. He's shown he cannot be relied upon to actually play.
  17. If they could force a game 5, I'd love to see Ben Brown start that game.
  18. Well, if you believe Jed they did make a very "competitive" offer to Bregman.
  19. The Cubs will either pound the Brewers or lose 4-1 in game 3.
  20. I like Tucker but, him being effectively in absentia for 3 months has kind of dampened my enthusiasm.
  21. Cubs got two hanging breaking balls and the best they could do is pop them up. Something tells me you can't count on such ineptitude from the Dodgers.
  22. Just like the Cubs went 7-0 against the Mets in 2015. Go ahead and believe your Brewers have chance if it makes you feel good.
  23. They won't have the luxury of facing a tired Boyd or a struggling Shota. They won't have many chances for their dribblers, etc. Also, what the Brewers have done this season is a non-sustainable statistical outlier so, Brewers fans enjoy it while you can.
  24. I have to think they'll focus on starting pitching.
