  1. Beating the Cubs is their best chance to move on, don't think they'll get past the Phillies or Dodgers. If they do beat the Cubs, they better pray the Phillies and Dodgers beat up on each other extracting a toll on the series winner. If I were a Brewers fan, I'd be really worried about facing the Dodgers. Dodgers are not the same team they went 7-0 against in the regular season.
  2. Putting the ball in play is the next step, checked, didn't realize 0-7, 7 K's in the series. I'd seriously consider going with Castro, looking at his splits he's hit well vs. the Brewers and hit really well at American Family Field.
  3. Is there a chance we'll see more from Shaw this series? Think first PS, etc. may have gotten to him, definitely swinging at pitches he was, for the most part, not swinging at during the regular season.
  4. Guess the controversial strike call makes up for Durham' boot on a routine GB. The Padres' reaction to the umpires was certainly childish maybe, the Cubs in that situation react the same way. Don't think the umpires leaving the field with the Padres was a good idea. Did they hang around waiting for the umpires? If so, that's on Shildt, I believe it's his job to get the asses out of the dugout.
  5. You're correct, thought Miller was overkill and way too expensive. I'm certain if you gave the Padres the choice of Miller or Laureano being out for the WC they'd chosen Miller.
  6. Took a quick glance, didn't realize the Padres' pen had a WAR of 7.2! Brewers pen had a WAR of 1.3, a slight step down from that of Padres. It's a little different with the Brewers, Padres you better get them early and have a lead after 5, that's not the case with the Brewers.
  7. Miller was a nice to have not a necessity, the needs were on the offensive side.
  8. https://x.com/TalkinBaseball_/status/1973960929126879385?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^tweet He traded away the farm for Mason Miller, this team was never going to win the WS, not enough in the lineup.
  9. The Yankees' starter looks real good, real good. Despite this, I've complete faith in the Yankees bullpen to allow the Red Sox, at some point, to bring the tying run to plate.
  10. Knew I was forgetting someone, was it May or early June for his ETA?
  11. In the off season I'd like to see the Cubs pursue Cease. Cease, Horton, Boyd, Shota, Taillon could be okay.
  12. On PCA' steal is it possible Cronenworth was obstructing his path to the base?
  13. I think the Brewers were rooting hard for the Padres, the Cubs with a PCA and Tucker possibly coming out of it are far scarier.
  14. Definitely, an average SS doesn't make most of those plays. Fortunately, the Cubs have the best SS in the NL.
  15. Yeah, how many times have our Cubs been horsefeathered over by bad calls? Pendulum has to swing the other way once in a while.
  16. What, from Fermin? Can of corn, that clown is not going to beat you.
  17. This may be vulgar but, it's for the heart break of 1984 when a better Cubs team lost to the Padres - Shildt take Mason Miller and stick him up Tatis' ass! Bye, bye you pissant fucks!!!!
  18. Freddy Fermin is not going to beat you. Honestly, Tatis Jr. looked off, hurt, sick?
  19. Darvish doesn't have the stuff of Pivetta or Cease anymore, it's mainly about spin with location for him.
  20. Got revenge on the Giants for 1989, now, it's the Padres turn for 1984. I remember Gary Templeton talking some thrash after the Cubs went up 2-0, time to beat these fucks and their horsefeathers stained uniforms.
  21. At most, once through the lineup, maybe, the Cubs can make all academic by scoring some runs. A horsefeathers ton of runs would be nice.
  22. I suspect Shildt is going to have a very quick hook with Darvish, Cubs have to get to him early.
  23. The Padres blew they're wad today with Cease, they had to, given how well he's pitched lately. It was an almost a certain win for the Padres today. Darvish is a whole different story, he not what he was, has no margin for error. He's has the type of stuff the Cubs have crushed, think we'll see big things from Tucker and PCA. I'd much rather face Cease in game 2 than 3, that's why getting game 1 was so big.
