  1. I think it best to assume Tucker is done, wouldn't be surprised if that's Craig' starting point as well. Regarding your point above, I was thinking the same. Yes, a healthy Tucker improves the lineup but, I do think the version of Tucker before IL stint is replaceable. Does anyone know the status of Cassie? Concussions are nothing to be taken lightly, I'm convinced a concussion effectively end the career of Andre Curbelo (Illini PG) and they've ended the careers of may others. If healthy, is Cassie a possibility for the playoff roster?
  2. I think, unfortunately, the Dodgers staff is starting to get healthy, or at the very least, their starters. They've been on quite the heater and, I suspect, come the PS, their bullpen will be adequate. Then again, they are older than dirt and I believe Ohtani arm's is a ticking bomb.
  3. Really? Have you not read the season long Brewers' fluff pieces on this board? Should the Cubs make out of the the WC the match up is the their bats vs. the Brewers pitching. Cubs have a big edge offensively, they can put up runs with one swing of the bat. Brewers have the edge on the mound there's no denying that point. One caveat - being it's the post season, the Cubs can tune their staff, no more Ryan Pressly's, Chris Flexen's and Colin Rea's types for the Brewers to exploit.
  4. For shits and giggles it'd be cool if the Brewers lost tonight.
  5. Still playing for the #1 WC but, the pressure to make/not make the post season is off. That's nice, was really worried the next 7 vs. the Reds and Mets were going to be of the win and in, lose and out variety. Good they don't have to go into Cincinnati having to take three of four or some such nonsense. Actually, it all on the Reds, I'm guessing they have to sweep the Cubs plus several other permutations of teams winning and losing to even have a chance.
  6. They're old and injury prone, think that's played a big part in, for the Dodgers, a pedestrian 84-67. Don't know about Ohtani pitching, still think his arm is going to explode at some point.
  7. The Dodgers will, of course, deferred until 2500.
  8. I'm seriously questioning if he's worth a mega contract from the Cubs. Sure, if he plays, but, this is bringing up memories of Kris Byrant.
  9. Did anyone have the Cubs 3 games better than the Dodgers this late into the regular season? What I also find surprising is despite the Brewers being literally unbeatable for a significant stretch the Cubs are only 5 games back in the loss column.
  10. Most definitely, at best, a mediocre defense, I like that Ben Johnson didn't use the injuries as an excuse. Regardless of their very big impact.
  11. I know I saw it somewhere, the Lions offense pre and post the Bears losing their two best defenders. Pre injuries the Bears were doing okay, forced some punts and were not getting rolled. With all of these over the top reactions did one ever consider it was a perfect storm for the Lions? There isn’t a team in football that can overcome losing their two best defenders in the same game. Add in a motivated Lions team and it was recipe for the disaster we saw. I’m certain the Lions win without the Bears’ injuries on defense. And I’m certain the Lions don’t score 50+ points under those circumstances.
  12. If he was loafing Sunday, not blocking down field because the Bears were hopelessly trailing. I've no problem with phasing him out or benching him. I'll bet Luther will bust his ass out there regardless of the score.
  13. In no way am I excusing DJ but, wasn't he technically not an eligible receiver or blocker because of something about being pushed out of bounds? The manner in which he just went and sat on the bench was ****** even though he was unable to participant in the play.
  14. The line is going to get better, most have already dismissed the Bears OL acquisitions as failures. Give them a few more games, even though Caleb' been sacked quite a few times. You can see the PP has improved, it's mainly Caleb holding on to the ball. Once Ben Johnson breaks Caleb of this habit and convinces him that playing on time is the big play we'll see consistent results.
  15. Wouldn't be surprising if they have some kind of a bounce back game on defense either, I'm not talking about winning or the like. Just not be the total sieve they were vs. Lions, no WRers without a Bears defender in the area code, etc.
  16. I know there aren't many, if any, lacrosse fans here, quite a few hockey players have lacrosse in their background. So, I'll post this here, me, the old man, almost scored a beauty last night, came around the crease from X on the goalies' left. Caught a pass on the run with my left hand and got off a quick shot equivalent to a hockey one-timer. Only problem was the goalie may a really good save, of course, last night, my son scored twice, including a rip on the run in the five hole - punk. There's at least one active hockey here, think he's goalie? Please forgive me for not remembering your name. Nevertheless, just curious has hockey began for you? There's a fellow I play lacrosse with in the summer who doesn't play in fall since hockey fires up for him.
  17. Honestly, I never thought the playoffs were a realistic goal for this team. What is a realistic goal is Caleb and the offense starts to click around mid-season and the Bears are competitive the last quarter of season maybe, even a playoff spoiler for someone on their schedule. I still believe this can very much happen.
  18. I have to think there was a horsefeathers-ton tests and imaging that suggested everything was a go.
  19. Some good will come out of the inevitable TJ Edwards is done for the season announcement, I think Sewell will turn out to be a player. A pick that Poles actually hit on, imagine that, it also took two years but, better late than never.
  20. I know it the remainder of this season hopefully, and I know it's the Bears, "indefinitely" doesn't mean next season as well.
  21. Yes it does, and you can bet whatever happen to Edwards and Gordon are the worst case scenarios as well.
  22. Knew it - https://x.com/AdamSchefter - season ending updates on Gordon and Edwards are in queue. With the Bears it never fails to assume the worst possible outcome.
  23. Haven't won squat, not even been to a SB and may not even make this year. Won't be surprised if meathead in chief costs them in the playoffs again.
  24. Think we'll see the switch to Monangai/Johnson pretty soon also, believe the running game will incrementally improve if the line stays in place.
  25. Yesterday it appeared to me they were consistently rushing 4 and dropping everyone else in "coverage".
