  1. Main thing with Caleb is I do not believe the game is too fast for him, there isn't a processing problem such as with Justin and Mitch. Everything else is fixable, will take some time and progress will be up and down but, it's fixable. If there was processing problems with Caleb, Ben wouldn't have picked the Bears.
  2. This doom bonery completely ignores what happens when he does play on schedule and in rhythm. When seen flashes of it in every game, Caleb and the offense are lethal during those flashes. Just need those flashes to become the norm rather than flashes.
  3. This and playing on time, trusting the process, all of the good QB's play on time and trust the process. When necessary some of them can resort to high school/sandlot ball and those are the plays everyone remembers but, on most plays, it's trusting the process and executing. Although infrequently, we've seen Caleb play on time and trust the process, when it has occurred they're pretty hard to stop.
  4. Of course, I should have clarified, solely with the bat I'd take Judge.
  5. I'd still take Judge. Has anyone looked at the numbers he put up? They make Ohtani' look pedestrian and that's saying something.
  6. Whether Maye, Daniels or whomever is better than Caleb is irrelevant. The question is will Caleb improve?
  7. Yeah, it's getting really tiresome. All we can do is look to next week, there's no reason not expect an improved offensive performance. Bears will be facing another terrible defense, there has got be an uptick in the offense, no excuses at all.
  8. I'm certain Ben isn't liking some things either though, as you said, he knows far more than any of us about what's not working and why.
  9. Isn't there clear need for pitching with swing and miss stuff? Even, if you will, a gaping hole at pitching with regards to swing and miss stuff?
  10. I was also thinking about Ben' goal of a 70% completion percentage for Caleb which suggests if he plays on time, at least, 70% of time, his first reads will be open. Trust the process and do it.
  11. Ben needs to adapt that strategy. It's just out of hand and so one sided, utterly ridiculous. Getting back to Caleb I wonder how many of the first reads are there that he's missing? Given most of teammates appear to be doing their jobs I'd say the first reads are available quite often. Probably 70-75% of the time all Caleb needs to do is one-two-three-plant throw, which is I guess, play on time. The few times he's done so, he's been very effective, don't know why he can't get back to playing on time.
  12. And, once again, I don't what it is about NFL officiating' inability or unwillingness to call roughing penalties when Bears' QB get blasted. I really want Ben Johnson to go ape horsefeathers crazy and tee-off on their next no-call. It's really getting ridiculous that defenders are allowed free reign on Bears' QB's while they get called for glancing the opposing QB's helmet. Does anyone know if there's some official process NFL teams use to point out bad officiating? If so, I'm certain the Bears are amongst the top contributors.
  13. Me neither, this isn't a case of the Bears "ruining" a QB, everything is in place for Caleb to succeed. He's not executing and there's no one to blame but himself. Ben Johnson appears to be a no-nonsense, will not sugar coat it type of guy, I'm certain in film review and practice he's been on Caleb' ass about his continued failure to execute.
  14. You're correct, guess I should have said Hoyer has never gone after the top FA.
  15. And Sasaki, I'm convinced the whole process of him being interested in the Cubs and other teams was a charade. I honestly don't know why the Cubs wasted their time with him.
  16. I know I wrote one of Cease/King will be a Cub but, I was just kidding myself. This front office has never seriously pursued what was considered the top FA, pitcher, etc., ever. It's always some second tier "fiscally responsible" target that's why I believe we can completely eliminate Cease or King from consideration. It's going to be a Shane Bieber type or types we'll see the Cubs sign.
  17. Looked at the interception again, didn't look as if Odunze was screened at the time of the interception. Would like to have seen what happened as broke his route, if I had to guess, I'd say there was probably all sorts of illegal contact. Which gave the defender time to under cut the throw. Or, most likely, the throw was late which is in keeping with the crap we got today from Caleb.
  18. Next week they'll be facing another not so good defense, from the looks of it, a really bad defense. I think it perfectly reasonable to expect a good game from Caleb next week.
  19. I'm willing to give him the rest of this season, if we don't see, at least, some hints at excellency or sustained good play. The clock will be ticking early next season, don't know if Ben' going to give him all of 2026 for it to finally click.
  20. Was that DPI on Caleb INT? Appeared Odunze was being picked and not given a chance to catch the ball, which is a penalty right?
  21. Bears didn't play well enough to win, garbage from Caleb again. Apparently, though only the Bears get called for roughing the passer - Caleb was definitely roughed - and only the Bears get called for offsides - Ravens were way offsides on the that last 3rd down.
  22. The Bears absolutely exploited the Ravens blitz on that series, they took advantage of their over aggressiveness and it was sweet. Past Bears' teams would have never adjusted and done such a thing.
  23. Accuracy is worthless when every legit FG attempt has to be 50 yards and in.
  24. Me neither, he's hit well at every level, I'd like him to get another chance.
  25. Same here with patience, it's a long non-linear process towards a good offense. Ben Johnson himself has said on multiple occasions he doesn't expect them to be at their best until December into January. That's at least 6 more games of up and down.
