  1. I feel bad for him as well, by all accounts a great guy who works his ass off, most definitely deserves better. However, the cold hard fact is he's unable to function as an effective QB in the NFL, he'll never be able to and it sucks.
  2. Bullpen was thinking about, from the right side, Palencia, Keller, Hodge and Brown. From the left side I do not believe Thielbar or Pomeranz will come any where near what they did this season. I'd most definitely move on from Thielbar, might consider a one year offer to Pomeranz, that still leaves the need for two more LHP's? I'd like to see Hoyer find some LHP's with plus stuff, other teams manage to do so, why can't Jed?
  3. Think many of us would like to see the Cubs sign King or Cease can either of these guys be a reasonable expectation with this FO? Or, are we looking at Hoyer trying to find another Matthew Boyd on, in baseball terms, the cheap?
  4. Don't think Soroka will have many, if any, multi-year offers, think he's bound to a one year prove it deal some where. I'd like to be the Cubs, believe his metrics suggest a reasonable expectation of him being decent.
  5. Brewers are immune to regression? An awful lot of things went well for them. Let’s just assume they’ll all go well again while everything will regress for the Cubs.
  6. Full of hot takes, I don't like the idea of giving up on Shaw. He's hit and hit well at every level of baseball, no reason to assume he won't improve.
  7. Will they be able to hang with or beat OSU in the Big Ten Championship game? Thought PSU could be a potential loss, not looking like they'll be a big threat now.
  8. Have to give the Hoosiers credit, thought they'd be blown out, turns out they may win. Good job.
  9. Me to, thought he had one earlier unfortunately, was to biggest part of the ball park.
  10. We've not seen PCA' best this post season, I believe we'll see something great from PCA tonight.
  11. Wright, graded as the 2nd best runner blocker in the NFL + only given up 1 QB pressure all season, will be back on Monday night. A great thing for the Bears, think we'll see very improved play from the OL.
  12. Most definitely, I was encouraged, they weren't overwhelmed and looked good vs. ,basically, an NFL team. There isn't a team on the remaining schedule that's even in the same universe as OSU, Illini should have a chance to win all of them.
  13. Megill is that Murphy's best choice? Or, is the idea Misiorowski will be way too pumped and more wild than usual. So, ease him into the game. Jason appeared to me that Megill' breaking stiff hasn't been very sharp, hanging/rolling his sliders, does this look correct?
  14. Misiorowski take, take, take he will walk himself into trouble if you give him the chance. Generate some BB's, get him favorable counts, then nail him.
  15. Despite being 20-3, if this Illinois team shows up next game in Seattle they've got a real good chance. OSU is very talented, one thing better teams may be able to exploit is their secondary. They commit PI on every pass play, tugging on jerseys, holding, etc. they're not going to keep getting away with that against comparable opponents.
  16. Does it matter? If the bats come to life I'll take the Cubs chances to out slug the Brewers.
  17. If it's Shota, not surprised and probably won't work however, I Craig credit for not being scared and going with his guys. It's obvious Murphy doesn't trust anyone save for Peralta to start, guess he can start, what, 3 times in a potential 7 game series vs. Dodgers? Don't know what he'll do for the other 4 games.
  18. I'm not rooting for Dodgers. I also see a Dodgers team that's resembling and playing like 110 win team everyone thought of in the pre-season. And I understand the Brewers or Cubs have very slim chances against such a team.
  19. Re-watched the condensed game highlights, Suzuki K'ed twice on balls that were almost balls out of the pitchers' hand. horsefeathers, those were frustrating when they occurred and they're frustrating to re-watch. That said, I like where some of them bats are trending, Tucker' going to keep on, Busch and we've not seen the best from PCA - it's coming.
  20. I been watching the same thing, the randomness of baseball aside, no one has much of chance.
  21. Just getting to this point they're already playing with house money.
  22. Cubs totally playing house money, go with Ben Brown Saturday.
  23. Seiya is also an expert at the big K to the benefit of the opposition. That was ball out of Ashby’ hand.
