  1. I thought the back-hander by Jokinen was pretty pathetic and should have been stopped. By the way, I know there have been cheap shots by both sides but, am I the alone in thinking Jokinen is Mr. Cheap Shot?
  2. 100% agreed. They were standing around and letting the Flames fire at will for four or five minutes before the fifth goal, focusing on blocking the shots. You know what's a really good defense? Controlling the puck 180 feet away from your goal. They knew this in the third period of game 2, and forgot it tonight. I agree, what's with the Hawks allowing one rush to goal after another? Every time a Flame controlled the puck, he was in unimpeded, I knew it was only a matter of time before Calgary took the lead.
  3. This and, whatever that crap Perkins sprouted about Rose was, are the type of statements made by a team that knows it's in danger of losing the series. They're searching for something, anything to give them an edge.
  4. I believe those are the type of statements made by a team that knows it's in danger of losing the series. They're searching for something, anything to give them an edge.
  5. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a bad idea to give Cutler-Bennett a chance and target someone who can get to the QB with their first pick. I saw Mike Ditka the other day discussing the significance of Cutler to the Bears. He seemed to be suggesting that their offense was not going to change much. I don't know about that, Turner' never had a QB like Cutler to work with, so, perhaps, his offenses of past were such out of necessity more than choice. I don't believe we're going to see high octane passing game but, I think will see something more than the short, conservative passing game.
  6. I remember Pat Foley saying the most dangerous lead he hockey is two goal lead, lets hope that holds true tonight.
  7. Wow, what a shocker thought the Bulls one advantage, Rose >>>>>>>>> the Boston back court, could steal a win but, I really didn't think it would happen.
  8. Cubs, not playing very well, have still managed to take 2 of 3 from the Cardinals. Tell me how they won't bury them when they start playing well.
  9. Suck it Molina on your crap double in the 7th!!! Wish I was Aram after that swing I would have turned to Molina and said have a nice evening!
  10. Finally!!!! As for Molina, I wouldn't take him over Geo no matter how good he is defensively.
  11. Down, down, down anything down is a strike!!!!!
  12. Hey Lou, tell Gregg that anything low is a strike wait, Gregg can't get the ball down, never mind.
  13. Ya till July, just like last year i dunno, they have the best hitter in baseball and another one of the top 10 hitters in the game, plus lohse is now a lot better than the back of the rotation guy that he was before he arrived in st. louis. i guess it depends on whether wainwright and carpenter are healthy for the stretch run. Pujuls/Ludwick may be the best 3-4 in the NL, but the rest of their lineup is questionable at best, but if Ankiel, Duncan, and Glause end up productive, watch out. If they have Carpenter healthy for any length of time, Carp-Wain-Lohse will be a very solid front of the rotation. Until Ludwick does it for another season I'm not convinced he's nothing more than a flash in the pan, even if all the above does happen they're not better than the Cubs.
  14. It’s really frustrating listening to Cubs losing to the Cardinals, what’s more so, will be the media reaction should the Cardinals win today and tomorrow. They be all over how the Cardinals were under ratted and are contender, it'll all look pretty silly come September when the Cardinals are 10+ games behind the Cubs.
  15. Let's see, Dempster in his can't throw a strike mode and every Cardinal gounder finding a hole and bloop falling in - great.
  16. As do I but, I'm taking comfort in the fact that the Cubs are a far better team than the Cardinals and its only a matter of time before the Cubs leave them in the dust.
  17. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Happy now Mr. goony?
  18. I believe the Blackhawks are the better team and will prove it by beating Calgary. If, in the 2nd RD, they end up facing SJ, I don't expect the Blackhawks to win. But, that's OK because I believe all of this is setting up the next 5 or so years where I look for them to be one of the dominant teams in the Western Conference and overtake the Wings.
  19. That's the key point, if so, the Cardinals might hang in the race. However, once this Cubs team hits it stride its going to blow the Cardinals and the rest of NL Central away.
  20. Who the worst LF? Duncan, Braun or Soriano?
  21. I still find it hard to believe that people think this Cardinal team is good, the lineup consists of one HOF hitter and a bunch of average to below average hitters.
  22. We all know Marquis will give the Cubs multiple chances to get back in the game, its up to them to cash in.
  23. Jose Macias Danny Jackson, I believe he pitched one three up, three down inning as a Cub.
  24. On the plus side Lilly does seem to have better stuff than the other night when he was pitching Home Run Derby.
  25. What did Miles lose some baseball IQ points when he became a Cub? Take sign or not you take another pitch!!!
