  1. Honestly, the first thing the Bulls need to do this offseason is find a real head coach. I know that's not happening, but Vinny is as bad as it gets. He has no plan for anything. Indeed, Celtics did the same things for 7 games, nothing from Vinnie, no defensive adjustments, zilch, how do retain such a coach?
  2. I don't expect the Bulls to win, some BS call or non-call will lead to their demise but, I'd like to see them play some better defense today. I mentioned they don't play defense perhaps, I should have said they don't play much defense. For six games now I've seen the same things from the Celtics yet, Vinnie has been unable to make defensive adjustments to counter them. I've seen: 1. Ray Allen - all he wants to do is come off screens and shoot 3's 2. Paul Peirce - left, left, left, first, middle and last moves always to his left
  3. I know it's probably asking a bit much but, could Khabi direct those rebounds to the left or right instead of the middle? Maybe, it's not possible with every rebound but, an awful lot his seem to go towards the middle of the Hawks' zone.
  4. Anyone else have the feeling the Bulls have won despite themselves? They got a clueless coach, they don't play defense (this is the primary reason Rondo has looked "good") and continue to make the same mistakes yet, they've managed to win 3 games and send it back to Boston. Wasn't Rose' block of Rondo' shot a thing of beauty?
  5. Of course, we'll never know and I'd like to believe that's true but, I'm not certain a flagrant foul isn't called. And we all know Big Baby would have fallen to ground unconscious for added effect.
  6. Being the Devil's Advocate - What if the tables were turned? Bulls up, 2+ seconds on the clock, etc., do the Bulls get called for a flagrant foul?
  7. Falling into the elbow leading Pierce you mean?
  8. Arizona an apparently terrible offensive team scores 21 runs in 3 games, since the Cubs are struggling can they somehow play themselves this weekend?
  9. Ultimately it doesn't matter because win or lose the Celtics are going win as many NBA Championships as the Bulls will this season - 0. I didn't expect much from the Bulls this series, I'd only like to see them win to stick it to Garnett. All his antics and crap, gosh I would have loved to see him pull that sh*t on MJ. MJ would have not only beaten him, he would have rubbed it in his face for good measure.
  10. Perkins? What about Davis? The moving screen appears to be his specialty.
  11. I believe he's more effective against a free swinging team, if the Cubs give him a chance he'll pitch himself into trouble. Don't know why, I haven't look at his career numbers vs Davis, but, I think Bradley going to smoke Davis today.
  12. I don't know if he could have, TT dunks that ball.
  13. What was Pierce doing with his right elbow? Was he going for the ball? I'll say it again, some better coaching and perhaps, even an attempt at defense and the Bulls win this series.
  14. No. How about we include our two first round picks in a package that nets Bosh or Amare? That's the best case scenario. Unless they resign, they should both be unrestricted FA's in 2010.
  15. Ugh, although Ive got confidence in BG trying to play. They guy took a shot at half just to be able to finish the last game, so if there is any way he can play he will. Yeah I still think he'll play too, but this sucks. I was actually pretty confident that we could win there tonight. Hopefully this is a little bit of a posturing job, but I don't think that'd be something BG would do. Isn't that a Celtic specialty?
  16. Here's to Rose' presence helping to sign, if they're still available, Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire in 2010. Team one of those with Rose and I think you've got something good.
  17. I question how much they addressed it. They got another tackle who may be a poor man's Tommie Harris, but the Bears already have a poor man's Tommie Harris, Tommie Harris. The end is a total project who is very unlikely to be a significant force this year. If they are going to have improved pass rush, it's going to be with Marinelli getting more out of the 3 established ends. I don't believe Marinelli' coaching is going to make any difference, they couldn't get to to the QB last year, I don't believe they will this season either.
  18. I watched the final ticks from bed. Seriously man, I had to be at work at 6:45am this morning. Awesome game. Khabi was the Khabi of old last night. Just awesome. They outshot us by some insane margin, and we still win by 3 goals? Great game. Rubbed in their Canadian faces too. :yahoo: I caught the first two periods via a free live online stream (for some reason VS kept broadcasting SJ/ANA in the Mid-Michigan area) nevertheless, early on, Calgary was just throwing the puck at the net, that accounts for shot discrepancy. Given Khabi' let in some soft goals that was probably not a bad strategy but, Khabi did come up big in the second period.
  19. Why must the Cubs be the tonic for every struggling team' and player' ills? Team A not scoring runs - check Team A playing the Cubs - check Team A facing Lilly, who has been pretty good early in the season - check Team A wins game without breaking a sweat - check That is such a tiresome algorithm...
  20. The most unfortunate aspect of this Series is that with a better coach and defense the Bulls would have had a very good chance to win it. Of course, with a better coach and defense the Bulls quite probably would have finished higher than 7th.
  21. I don't expect the Bulls to win heck, I thought they might be able to steal one game but, two? However wouldn't be something if they did win the Series? The looks on Garnett' face alone would be worth the price of admission.
  22. I think the 90s Bulls would have swept these Celtics, even with Garnett. With Garnett? I think that's pretty optimistic. They would've won, but not swept. Do you remember how teams like the Knicks and Pacers (and Jazz) gave us a hell of a time in the playoffs? The Celtics of last year > those Jazz teams, IMO. The Celtics of this year with KG are a better team than last year too. A year of development from Perkins, Davis, and Rondo is a big deal. I think this year's team is better than all the Bulls losers except for maybe Phoenix. I was young when the Bulls beat the Lakers but I seem to remember it being a case of a pretty old team by that point right? And what are Allen, Garnett and Pierce? Fresh out of school? By the way - Jordan, Pippen, Grant, Armstrong all < 30 in '92, Paxson was 31, Cartwright was the "old man".
  23. The Trib has Lilly and Haren as today' match up is this correct?
  24. In my mind, the only reason this game even went to overtime is because of TT's stupid keeping of the damn ball instead of dishing it off to a better free throw shooter. The Celtics didn't have that game, at all. If they want to argue Ben Gordon's shot in the 1st OT, then fine. It should never have even gotten to that point, and they probably know that but just won't say it. TT's stupidity notwithstanding, what about Vinnie' terrible coaching? Everyone in the building knew the Celtics were going to run a play for Allen. So what happens? They get screened off(although I find it hard to believe Davis managed to screen two Bulls at a time without holding, he's big, but) and Allen got an open look. I knew that would happen once TT missed the free throw. But I was still screaming at the TV when they inbounded it and it didn't look like they were defending the perimeter all that closely. Speaking of defense and good coaching what do think the Bulls of 90's would have done with these Celtics? I know its meaningless but, what the hell. I'd say Bulls in 5, they were very good at removing players like Allen from the equation in fact, I believe they would have made two of Rondo, Allen and Pierce non-factors thereby giving the Celtics little to no chance in the Series.
  25. Here's a chance for a Bull to do a Celtic special. Player hurt and seemingly done somehow manages to recover and play.
