  1. good news is we can shoot and we can score inside. bad news is that our interior defense sucks. if we can't stop anyone, we might have to pull simpson off the bench. na dont burn him. he will be more important in the coming years when we are good. legion will be enough to get us in the tourny this year, which is all we could hope for. Can Legion create off the dribble? If so, he'll add something the Illini were missing last night, with someone able to create his own shot I say they win last night.
  2. Chris Bosh plz Bosh, Amare or Boozer in that order are the guys I would love to see paired with Rose. Well, assuming Lebron is unrealistic Of course. Saw Lebron on Sports Center yesterday, they're all torqued up about him being a Knick but, something he said was interesting - his FA destination will largely depend upon who he'll play with. Currently, the Knicks and Cavaliers have no one close to a Derrick Rose nor will they have in the near future. I think Lebron is smart enough to know that playing alongside Derrick Rose will get him closer to an NBA Championship than whomever his Knick or Cavalier teammates will end up being.
  3. I don't known if this has mentioned but, Noah could very well turn out to be the worst 1st Rounder in Bulls' history. I wouldn't go so far as worst in NBA history because I believe there have been worse 1st Rounders than Noah.
  4. After having read that the Marlins are looking for a big package for Hermida I've resigned myself to the fact that the Cubs are going to be unable to trade for him. It's too bad for, he perfectly fits the mold of what Lou wants next season - young, athletic and a LHB - I don't doubt he'd have a big season playing half his game in Wrigley. That leaves FA options of Bradley, Abreu and Ibanez, Bradley, I believe, is the best choice followed by Abreu and Ibanez - I hope we don't see him in RF next season, why do I keeping thinking this is who Hendry' going to ink? Also need to figure that whoever Hendry does sign should be someone that will not cost him any picks. I'd bet the Yankees would offer arbitration for Abreu. Bradley and Ibanez, probably will not be offered arby. From the Elias thread I see Ibanez is an A Type FA that's means a 1st Rd draft choice right? Bradley' a B does that involve the sandwhich picks? Oh, I didn't know Bradley was a "B". Figured he'd be an "A". I'd guess that puts Bradley in the driver's seat. I was thinking along the same lines if so, may here would be pleased, including me.

  7. Dan Hampton the other day on the Score basically told Harris and company to shut up and play. It was great, he called out Urlacher saying Mr. Superstar LB why don't you do something besides talk. Of the DL he said why don't you quit getting stood up at the line of scrimmage and get to the QB. That being said I don't expect a change, I believe, as the previous five or so QB's have done, Rodgers to have his best QB rating of season. How can he not? He'll ample time to sit in the pocket and the Bears secondary cannot cover anyone.
  8. While I still don't like the idea of re-signing Dempster, I'd live with more money over less years, don't want the Cubs stuck with an expensive 5 yr contract.
  9. ibanez is only athletic in the sense that he is a professional athlete. Here's to hoping Hendry can "wow" the Marlins for Hermida because, there's no benefit to wasting money on Ibanez.
  10. So, if deal goes down, does this mean the Padres will be looking to move Greene?
  11. Doesn't matter, he be singing a different tune after they get their ass kicked in the playoffs. If Orton doesn't get hurt on cheap shot by Lions and plays do the Bears win this game?
  12. What do you mean not Super Bowl calibre? Which group of AFC teams are so far ahead of them that they have no chance to advance to the Super Bowl? Maybe last year I would have agreed with you, but not this year. If SD ever got their act together they'd blow this team off the field.
  13. Their 8-0, soon to be 9-0 but, this Titan team is nowhere near a Super Bowl caliber team, good but not great defense and not a single standout play maker on offense.
  14. Everyone' going to rave about the Titans and their fantastic adjustment to put aside the running game and go with the pass. But the reality is in the Bears the had the luxury of facing one of the worst pass defenses in football.
  15. Pick 6 coming up book it.
  16. The dumb ass throws it away on third down yet, completes a pass for negative yardage on first down.
  17. What's going to come first the dropped snap or pick 6?
  18. I gotta think if this was Dempster' intent he wouldn't have opted to test the open market.
  19. Should this trade go down might it be wiser to let Dempster walk and take the pick?
  20. No thank you, Hermida, 25 in 09, LHB >>>> 1 year, thus far, wonder 30 yr old, RHB Ludwick - it will be interesting see if he can replicate or come close to his 08 numbers in 09 though
  21. Plus he throws from the right side, heck Rich Hill could be corpse yet, some team will take a flier on him solely because he's a LHP. Who throws from the right side? Cliff Lee? No, he's a lefty too. Sorry, I didn't mean right side literally, perhaps, I should have written preferred side, that is, teams are always looking for a LHP.

  23. I'm all for replacing Dempster with Peavy however, my concern is whether the Cubs will have to liquidate all their resources to do so. Leaving them with nothing (as far as the Marlins are concerned) and therefore, unable to pursue Hermida - an off season of trades for Peavy and Hermida, resigning Wood and possible getting a compensation pick for Howry? How can that be bad?
  24. I don't know if the Cubs have the resources to do so but, I'd make Jake Peavy plan A, let Dempster walk. Signing him has all the earmarks of bad contract, let some other team make that mistake and take the draft pick. Also, if what Lou said about more youth and athleticism is one of Hendry' offseason guidelines, wouldn't a trade for Hermida make the most sense?
  25. Well my understanding is that in the Cover 2, as in all zone defenses, there are holes to exploit. One of the big keys is a pass rush to hurry the QB so that he cannot find those holes. If theres no pass rush, the QB has tons of time to throw and find a receiver. Thanks, after posting the question I thought perhaps, its success is predicated on a pass rush. Given the Bears haven't had a consistent pass rush all season, it seems counter-productive that the Bears would continue to utilize such a scheme. Wouldn't a non-zone scheme which takes away the holes and gives the DL time to get the QB be a better choice for the Bears?
