  1. lolololololololololololololol As funny as it may be, its probably not all that out there, he's already shown a tendency to swing at sliders low and outside. Unless someone makes a mistake there's a real good chance he's not going to touch the ball.
  2. The frustrating aspect is they'll keep throwing him the same pitch over and over and over, you'd think Perry or Lou would say something to him.
  3. Depends on whether Z can get his head on straight and keep it that way. So... There's a chance he could keep his head on straight but, lets be realistic, its not going to happen.
  4. Prepared to be embarrassed, given how terrible Zambrano has been lately coupled with the added pressure of the playoffs there's no way he doesn't implode by the 4th. After this latest playoff flop, for the first time in my life, I'm considering moving on, I've had enough. I don't deserve this nor do any of my fellow Cub fans. This was best Cub team I've ever seen and there's a excellent chance they're not going to manage at least one playoff win.
  5. Not against the Cubs in playoffs the last seven games hell, they were mesmerized by a BP tossing Livan Hernandez, think about it, Livan Hernandez.
  6. They're not the same team but, I've zero confidence in Zambrano and Harden the next two. Different year same results. I disagree. I have a feeling Zambrano is going to (female dog)slap the Dodgers. I hope you're right, with Z it's going to turn one of two ways he'll implode by the 3rd or smoke 'em.

  8. This game' over hopefully, Zambrano can come up big tomorrow.
  9. Yeah, Soriano' not going to get another hit until 2009...
  10. Various outlets (ESPN) have been harping on the "superior" Dodger pitching, in looking at the home and road splits of this great pitching staff I see a 1+ difference in ERA, a big time differences in BA, OBP, SLG and OPS. In comparison, the Cubs staff has less than run difference in ERA; BA, OBP, SLG and OPS are all understandably higher on the Road vs. Home but, not by much were talking a home OPS .702 vs. a Road OPS of .721. You'd think the Dodger staff, being so good, would have more consistent home and road splits
  11. I'll take it. Please be patient with Lowe and don't swing at his low-and-away slider, Cubs. I'm beggin' here. My biggest fear with D Lowe is D Lee coming to the plate with 1 out and a man on 1st. Lou has got to break out the Hit and Run with Lee up and less than two outs, sure you run the risk of the strike out, throw out DP but, with Lee' propensity to hit GB's, it's worth a try.
  12. I'll take it. Please be patient with Lowe and don't swing at his low-and-away slider, Cubs. I'm beggin' here. Well, Soriano and Lee will continue to do so but, the remainder of the lineup usually lays off that crap. Soriano - why does anybody throw him anything near the strike zone, I'm glad that many are dumb enough to do so, but, why?
  13. Because I'm an optimist and the Dodgers are not that good. Manny is good and their pitching is good, the team collectively is not. The point is, in a short series, the better team doesn't always win. A case can be made, for example, that we weren't the better team in '03 in the NLDS. But because we won the pitching matchups with Prior & Wood, the Braves' # of regular season wins meant little, and they were an early exit. I'm not saying that I'm shaking in my boots or anything, but the Dodgers are a tougher draw than the Mets would have been. We should still be able to take them. Fortunately, this Dodger team has nothing resembling the Prior and Wood of '03 but, I agree, the better team doesn't always win a short series.
  14. Who knows, in a few weeks, we could be singing the praises of Bob Howry, he's got all the symptoms of the unlikely playoff hero. During the regular season couldn't get a little league team out - check Manager, defying all baseball logic, sticks with him - check Every time he got up in the bullpen Cub fans cringed, fans of the Cubs' opponents cheered - check In mystery akin to the identity of Jack the Ripper somehow makes the Post Season roster - check And there you have it, although I don't believe Lou is going to use him in any high leverage situations thereby, not giving him the chance to the Hero, well see.
  15. he's learned the "don't get hit at any cost" return technique from Deion Sanders Well, I don't blame him, facing those madmen on special teams would give me some apprehension to but, with the Bear offense maybe he could stick to sideways.
  16. Devin Hester - On kickoff and punt returns what's with the running backwards and sideways?
  17. Anybody but, Howry still, despite that disappointing BB to Counsel I'd still go with Wuertz over Howry given a choice between the two. Damn that BB Counsel, after that first swing he had no intention of taking the bat off his shoulders.
  18. I thought, regardless of the opponent, the Cubs toughest playoff series was going to be the first, no different today. If the Cubs get by the NLDS they'll smoke the Phillies or Brewers in the NLCS.
  19. As much as I dislike the Mets and am pleased that they didn't make the playoffs, I'd like to see some team stick it to the Marlins like they've done a few times.
  20. I don't believe we'll have to worry about that, an overworked Sabathia, no Sheets, Gall (I can't remember how his named is spelled) coming off an injury, Bush and Suppan and that bullpen against the Phillies? If I were a Brewer fan I'd take in the moment, be happy they made playoffs.
  21. Shouldn't a hit and run be nearly automatic with Soriiano on 1b and Theriot up? Lou doesn't do it enough.
  22. Each run the Cubs tack on turns the screws tighter on the Brewers.
  23. Cedeno, despite beating out the potential DP grounder, doesn't have a clue, does he?
  24. Why do people think Cameron is star player? I look at his stats and see an average to mediocre hitter, nothing more.
  25. I believe he'll look good through the early innings, if his work load is going to take a toll, it'll show up in the middle innings.
