  1. Those leadoff walks will just eat your lunch. Heard Harrelson say the same during the White Sox highlights on 670 the other morning...
  2. Just read the game summary in the Trib, pretty disappointed the Cubs weren't able to take advantage of the Brewer bullpen over 7+ innings, oh well, magic number will be down to 2 after today.
  3. As someone who was convinced the Brewers were overrated all along and thought the Cubs might beat them by 10 games, there's a lot of threads I'd like to dig up. Good call, I was convinced the Cubs were/are better than the Brewers however, I did not think they'd possibly win the Central by 10 games. Interestingly, Stone Stone was calling for this all along, saying the Cubs would the Central by 8+ games in March and after the trade for CC.
  4. Buster on BBTN - Howard over Pujols for MVP? What kool-aid is he drinking? It's not even close Buster.
  5. LOL! The Lastros lost... nice, so 2 more wins against the Blewers and we have the division! Oh it's so great... how nice it will be to rub it into the face of the ever-tiny Brewers Nation if we clinch at home against THEM. SOOO PERFECT! That would be perfect, I know it may be an understatement at this point but, I mentioned to my uncles several weeks ago that the last three in Milwaukee would be meaningless to Cubs. Looking more and more like that is going to be true.
  6. The only reason that clown was signed was the he hits the Cubs. Not that's going to matter as far as the NL Central title is concerned but, I don't think we'll see Wood throwing him any breaking balls in future match-ups.
  7. How sweet it is but, creepy Cards fan still maintains they're going to be the 2008 NL Central Champs.
  8. Why in world did Dempster start the 6th?
  9. Cards down 7-2 after 8, I'm taking such glee in fact they'll be eliminated tonight for the record, I never took them seriously.
  10. Encarnacion with a two out 3 run double, Reds 3-1 after 6, Cards are going to be eliminated tonight (from the NL Central Title).
  11. Count me in, attended games in the Chicago Stadium - boy, did that place rock, the cheer as it built to a foundation shaking roar towards the end of the National Anthem. Grew up listening to Pat Foley, Sunday nights, Bannerman!!!!!!!! They Score!!!!!!! Larmer!!!!!!
  12. No, no. We've got to take at least one of these games, preferrably two. It would be a bad thing to allow the Crew to stage some kind of late season renaissance against us @ Wrigley. Can't let them sweep. I think there's a very good chance the Cubs will take two of three from the Brewers. I don't know what it was Z' no hitter, the unexpected break or a combination of these events but, I get the sense that this team is back to where it was in August - confident, having fun and playing good baseball. Wouldn't be surprised if they end up winning 8-10 of the remaining 13 games.
  13. Seconded that's one of the big things Grossman has on Orton, Orton' not merely bad on the deep ball he's flat out terrible. As a side note Chris Harris has a really big mouth, it would great if the Bears got another opportunity vs Panthers this season.
  14. I believe the Cubs will hand CC his first loss as Brewer on their way to taking two of three. As a side effect the Cubs will be unable to personally eliminate the Cardinals from the NL Central Crown (the magic number is two) - oh, well, would have been nice to see.
  15. Wood' still got good stuff, this inning was more a matter of poor positioning by Fukedome and bad luck on the Izturis crap. When you've got good stuff you can get a good hitter like Pujols to pop up. I am so sick of the Cardinals and their mostly craptastic hits.
  16. Did I call it or what? So where does the dribbler go? The classic to SS or will he surprise us with one to 1B?
  17. We know where this is going Theriot will find a way to get on and a Lee dribbler will follow.
  18. The Cards bullpen collectively throws the same pitch - breaking balls away, why can't a Cub hitter figure this out?
  19. Its uncanny I've yet to see Miles hit a ball hard against but, he gets on everytime.
  20. That idea has never ever been discussed here. Ever. You are the first to think of this. No, really. I know it has, it's just Lee' act of hitting the weakest of dribblers with RISP is growing extremely tiresome. Yet Piniella won't move his "franchise" out of the 3 spot, unless Derrek goes to Lou and says he needs to move for the 3 spot. Until then, "Mr. GIDP" will hit third, for better or for worse. Probably for worse, it's getting to the point where the opposition probably relaxes when Lee comes up with RISP because they know he hasn't a chance.
  21. This is pathetic Springer' literally throwing the same pitch time and time again and the Cubs can't touch him.
  22. That idea has never ever been discussed here. Ever. You are the first to think of this. No, really. I know it has, it's just Lee' act of hitting the weakest of dribblers with RISP is growing extremely tiresome.
  23. Anyone else think Lee should be benched for a while or, at least, moved down in the order?
  24. Anyone who believes the 100 thing or 69' or 03',etc has any effect or bearing on this season is an idiot.
