  1. The Trib has Lilly and Haren as today' match up is this correct?
  2. In my mind, the only reason this game even went to overtime is because of TT's stupid keeping of the damn ball instead of dishing it off to a better free throw shooter. The Celtics didn't have that game, at all. If they want to argue Ben Gordon's shot in the 1st OT, then fine. It should never have even gotten to that point, and they probably know that but just won't say it. TT's stupidity notwithstanding, what about Vinnie' terrible coaching? Everyone in the building knew the Celtics were going to run a play for Allen. So what happens? They get screened off(although I find it hard to believe Davis managed to screen two Bulls at a time without holding, he's big, but) and Allen got an open look. I knew that would happen once TT missed the free throw. But I was still screaming at the TV when they inbounded it and it didn't look like they were defending the perimeter all that closely. Speaking of defense and good coaching what do think the Bulls of 90's would have done with these Celtics? I know its meaningless but, what the hell. I'd say Bulls in 5, they were very good at removing players like Allen from the equation in fact, I believe they would have made two of Rondo, Allen and Pierce non-factors thereby giving the Celtics little to no chance in the Series.
  3. Here's a chance for a Bull to do a Celtic special. Player hurt and seemingly done somehow manages to recover and play.

  5. Let's just end this thing on Monday. Easier said than done. It looks to me like the Hawks can skate circles around the Flames when they open up the ice and, to some extent, they can grind it out. If the can do so (open up the ice) at the Saddledome they'll end it Monday.
  6. Thanks, doesn't seem like he could have been blamed for that one.
  7. 7 shots on goal yet, they have a goal, did anyone see the goal, was it one of Khabibulin' softies?
  8. You do realize his last 2 seasons he had a really bad elbow injury that allowed him to play but not at 100%? His numbers may have been even better the last 2 years had he been 100%, especially the power numbers. And he missed like 4 weeks in 2007 with an oblique injury and 2 weeks last year with an injury I forgot. I know about the elbow injury but if you can still play and be unstoppable through an injury, then that's clearly not serious enough an injury. I loved how we heard about Pujols' elbow being potentially season ending yet, he puts up MVP numbers, what a load of BS.
  9. I know Lee has the whipping boy but, I wouldn't mind seeing Hoff get a start at 1b for this game.
  10. Perhaps, I'm reading it wrong but, why in the world, to the Michigan market, would VS show one hour of the Blackhawks/Flames prior to covering the Sharks/Ducks in its entirety?
  11. The Cubs look terrible and the Cardinals look like world beaters in April.
  12. There's your ballgame, actually one run would have been enough...
  13. I thought the back-hander by Jokinen was pretty pathetic and should have been stopped. By the way, I know there have been cheap shots by both sides but, am I the alone in thinking Jokinen is Mr. Cheap Shot?
  14. 100% agreed. They were standing around and letting the Flames fire at will for four or five minutes before the fifth goal, focusing on blocking the shots. You know what's a really good defense? Controlling the puck 180 feet away from your goal. They knew this in the third period of game 2, and forgot it tonight. I agree, what's with the Hawks allowing one rush to goal after another? Every time a Flame controlled the puck, he was in unimpeded, I knew it was only a matter of time before Calgary took the lead.
  15. This and, whatever that crap Perkins sprouted about Rose was, are the type of statements made by a team that knows it's in danger of losing the series. They're searching for something, anything to give them an edge.

  17. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a bad idea to give Cutler-Bennett a chance and target someone who can get to the QB with their first pick. I saw Mike Ditka the other day discussing the significance of Cutler to the Bears. He seemed to be suggesting that their offense was not going to change much. I don't know about that, Turner' never had a QB like Cutler to work with, so, perhaps, his offenses of past were such out of necessity more than choice. I don't believe we're going to see high octane passing game but, I think will see something more than the short, conservative passing game.
  18. I remember Pat Foley saying the most dangerous lead he hockey is two goal lead, lets hope that holds true tonight.
  19. Wow, what a shocker thought the Bulls one advantage, Rose >>>>>>>>> the Boston back court, could steal a win but, I really didn't think it would happen.
  20. Cubs, not playing very well, have still managed to take 2 of 3 from the Cardinals. Tell me how they won't bury them when they start playing well.
  21. Suck it Molina on your crap double in the 7th!!! Wish I was Aram after that swing I would have turned to Molina and said have a nice evening!
  22. Finally!!!! As for Molina, I wouldn't take him over Geo no matter how good he is defensively.
  23. Down, down, down anything down is a strike!!!!!
  24. Hey Lou, tell Gregg that anything low is a strike wait, Gregg can't get the ball down, never mind.
  25. Ya till July, just like last year i dunno, they have the best hitter in baseball and another one of the top 10 hitters in the game, plus lohse is now a lot better than the back of the rotation guy that he was before he arrived in st. louis. i guess it depends on whether wainwright and carpenter are healthy for the stretch run. Pujuls/Ludwick may be the best 3-4 in the NL, but the rest of their lineup is questionable at best, but if Ankiel, Duncan, and Glause end up productive, watch out. If they have Carpenter healthy for any length of time, Carp-Wain-Lohse will be a very solid front of the rotation. Until Ludwick does it for another season I'm not convinced he's nothing more than a flash in the pan, even if all the above does happen they're not better than the Cubs.
