  1. Flipped from Illinois -Iowa State, saw Smyly, immediately switched back, knew it was not going to end well for the Cubs.
  2. Some are having Loyola-PTSD, totally different Illini team this time, sure, Iowa State, like Loyola was, is a very good defensive team. However, this Illini team is much more versatile, and, not as banged up, there's no doubt in my mind that Ayo was less than 100% for that game. Towards the end of the BTT Championship he got popped in the head and didn't look right. The after effects were still there during the Loyola game, beyond the defense, there was something up with his play.
  3. Well, it's game night for the Illini, they have a pretty good chance tonight. Iowa State' defense is certainly cause for concern, the Illini will have the best player on the floor maybe, the best two players on the floor. And are more than capable of playing some defense of their own. Appears the Illini have the height advantage which should help against Iowa State' trapping defense. Don't expect the Illini to not get turned over, if they keep the TO relatively low and control the offensive and defensive boards they should be okay. Watched some film analysis by Derek Piper, if the Illini can pass out of Iowa State' traps and reverse the ball they'll get open looks at threes could mean big games for Goode, Guerrier or, even though he's been in shooting slump, Harmon.
  4. Go JJ, shoot up the board, pushing the number of QB's taken in the top 8 to 4. Throw in Harrison and/or Alt/Fashanu/Latham leaving one of Nabers or Odunze at 9 for the Bears. I believe if Nabers or Odunze is there Poles will keep the pick otherwise, he'll trade down and go DL, WR.
  5. They have perfect excuses, the injuries, to not do much of anything and run it back next season. Literally spinning their wheels, what Bulls ' management is doing makes sense to none except them.
  6. is Houston the most vulnerable #1 seed? Despite their defense and physical play they seem really vulnerable if a team can shut down Shead. Putting the clamps on him is quite a bit easier than trying to stop someone like Edey. A good defender with some height and length can take Shead out.
  7. It's too bad, thought once they tied it up, had all the momentum and would pull it out.
  8. Is it just me or does Houston grab, hack and hold, a lot.
  9. Game was over within the first five minutes, Duquesne' only chance was for the Illini to come out flat. Playing their lackadaisical defense while Duquesne was executing at a near perfect rate. When the Illini came out with defensive intensity and effort even Duquesne knew they had no chance, you could see it on their faces.
  10. Yes, horsefeathers finally! Jumped on the Dukes buried them early, didn't let up, that's what you do when your the superior team. Sweet 16 it's about time.
  11. Think the Illini have a good chance to break the seal on getting to the second weekend. That said, I'm certain Duquesne will come out on fire hitting everything making Illini fans nervous.
  12. Think they're gassed from the Big Ten tournament, they gave it all they had. Not to take away from JMU, they've played great, we'll see what they can do against Duke. Guess I was a bit ambitious still, 4-2 isn't too bad for the Big Ten.
  13. Auburn and Kentucky out, couldn't happen to a better pair of guys in Pearl and Calipari. The venerable SEC is 1 and 5 thus far.
  14. True, but, they're capable when they want to be, it's matter of bringing the intensity and effort from the start.
  15. You're correct, Underwood even mentioned their limitations with his previous teams, this team has much more versatility thus allowing for more adjustments. All right Northwestern, 4-0 a possibility today.
  16. Besides the media who gives a rat's ass about what's being said about Fields by Moore, etc. Once training camp begins and Moore, etc. see what a significant upgrade there is at QB, they'll be saying Justin who?
  17. Believe the Big Ten will go 3-1 today, would be 4-0 if Northwestern wasn't so banged up.
  18. Whoa, what a minute, Underwood and the Illini making adjustments? WTF? What's the world coming to? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8BcntqGhxc
  19. Came out flat AGAIN, don't know what it about Underwood' teams that consistently under perform time after horsefeathers time. Someone besides Shannon has the get their head out of their ass and wake the horsefeathers up.
  20. Indeed, how about a change to the template for once? Just horsefeathers once.
  21. Probably will not occur however, I'd love to see Illinois and Purdue play a third time this season. Imagine that would put to bed all of the Big Ten chokes in the tournament talk for a while. Plus it'll be just plain awesome. Realistically the final four will probably look like - UConn, UNC, Purdue and Houston - maybe, Arizona comes out of the West in place of UNC, all #1 look to be really strong this year.
  22. Me neither, I fairly certain Poles is going to trade down from 9 and take a DL but, even though the need is strong and it's right move. I'm not certain he's going to take a WR the latter pick. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if takes another SS or CB before looking at WR and C.
  23. Or concussion appears he hits his head on the rim which, in itself, is amazing.
  24. My first thought.
  25. Did someone here write this?
