  1. It was a fun game that the Hawks dominated from the second period on. I don't remember ever seeing a team with the extra attacker failed to even gain the offensive zone. Some thoughts: Carcillo may say he's fine but he looked really slow out there- like Andrew Brunette slow. I was wondering when we'd see more of Saad on the PK. Last night showed why. Speaking of Saad, I'd like to see him replace Stals on the PP in the same role. He has better hands. I guess there's no hurry there. Stals had a great game and I'd say that even if he hadn't scored that goal.
  2. I thought they already said that Seabs was good to go and that Crawford would be ready over the weekend.
  3. Wow indeed. Who gets scratched: Bollig or maybe Bickell?
  4. The Sexy Arab girls site should have a disclaimer about premarital sex being a capital offense under Sharia Law.
  5. It's not often you see 7 players closer to the goal than the actual goalie. The PEns fans around here are getting frustrated. Their stars are scroing but nobody else and their goaltending is all over the place. Sounds familiar.
  6. That's what the linesmen use to repair the ice.
  7. It's as though they exist just so there can be a team that's even less fun to watch than Wisconsin. At least losing to Wisconsin doesn't have that stench of missed opportunity. It does when your team loses on a half court buzzer beater. That happens sometimes in a conference game. But if you lose to Penn State in basketball at home, the coach should probably consider resigning in disgrace, the players should feel ashamed and the institution should at least consider disbanding the program.

  9. They've had it since the beginning of time.
  10. I actually met someone named Katie Pizza. She married a guy named McCracken and her kids go with the hyphenated Pizza-McCracken.
  11. A cunning and subtle plan.
  12. sounds like Hansen got 1 game. Whatever.
  13. I don't know who this guy is but that name is awesome.
  14. I understood what you were saying but what I meant was how many more runs would Bourn produce due to his speed as opposed to the other options available? In order to use his speed, he has to get on base and juding by his career stats a .350 OBP is about what you could reasonably expect. ASs for the second part, in the short term they *may* have Jackson as that guy. If not, perhaps probably not, the comparison would be Bourne vs Dejesus. In which case Bourne's value lies more in his defense than his ability to score more runs because he is fast. To put it another way, I'd rather take my chances that DeJesus can provide what Bourne does offensively in the short run and hope that one of Jackson, Soler, Almora, etc pan out within 5 years.
  15. That's true. So go after Keith, not Hossa.
  16. I think there ought to be an additional fine or suspension every time someone tries to justify a dirty hit as a "hockey play". I missed almost the entire game due to DVR fail so I didn't see the play live. In the replays Hansen misses the puck by 4 feet and his elbow hits Hossa in the back of the head. This is pretty transparent revenge for Keith's hit on Thing2 last season. He deserves 5 but will get 3. If he gets less than that Bollig will probably kill him next time they play.
  17. I guess we'll see the Oduya- Hjammer pairing against the Sedin Line. I'd guess Rozsival with Keith
  18. Big Monday was great back when they'd have Big East, Big 10 and then one of the crazy, small gym, everyone plays full court press, west coast games at midnight central. We have Bobby Knight to thank for the end of Big Monday since he didn't like having Big 10 games played on ESPN's schedule. IIRC, they passed a law in Indiana saying that college games couldn't begin after 9 pm.
  19. I'm not getting worked up over a 25th man. Hell, Lillibridge was solid himself in 2011. I can get worked up enough for all of us. He was completely awful all his other years. Somebody has to be the worst player on the team.
  20. I'm not sure which is more difficult to believe: that they were able to get anything for Campana or that the D Bags didn't just wait a couple more days and put in a waiver claim. Could it be that they were afraid another team might be interested and beat them to the punch? They must have at least told them that the later was the case. How do waiver claims work in the off season? Is it first come first served?
  21. Because even the refs hate the Preds? I wish that the camera showed the linesman and where he was looking
  22. If I were them, I'd want that too since I'd rather not be the team that has to play the Hawks right after their first loss.
  23. Not sure but I think the blonde in the ChristianMingle ad is the Miss Maryland from about 3 years ago.
  24. This year the refs are calling interference a lot more strictly and that has helped the Hawks use their speed where last year the opposing team would just have 3 guys waiting at their own blue line and keep the Hawks forwards from getting to a dump in. It will be interesting to see how opposing coaches try to slow the Hawks down. The only thing that's worked so far is being really aggressive and trying to speed up the game (like the Kings did in the 3rd period) but in a game where they don't have a lead that would play right into the Hawks hands.
  25. NHL rules don't require that level of disclosure.
