  1. "So-called experts"? Anybody who has said anything about the guy says he's 1b/DH, if not simply just DH. I don't see the point in insinuating he may play some other position other than 1B, and then back off that statement. That video still shows a kid with B-cups and backboobs. He may not be a giant slob, but he's huge for a baseball player and there isn't any reason to pretend otherwise. I thought I saw somewhere recently speculation that they might try him in LF. Though whoever wrote that may never have seen Vogelbach in person. If they could pass him off as at least a tolerable OF that increases his value so much that it may at least be worth a try.
  2. What do you consider "pretty significantly"? How would that compare to getting a CF that could hit for more power?
  3. The headline made it seem like it was Carcillo on the shoot out- seems like a lot of other teams have some 4th line guy on the shoot out. If Hossa can't be any better than Sharp, I'd like them to see them pick a name out of a hat. Or maybe the fans could vote by applause.
  4. By boring everyone else into submission. No reason for you to give away your strategies. That reminds me of an incident at a chess tournament a few years ago. Would you like to hear about it? Don't leave us hanging, what happened?
  5. That question isn't dumb at all. In fact a lot of people would like to know the answer. MY guess is that Hossa must not like doing it.
  6. Agreed. Even on a bad night they still got a point. I love seeing Leddy getting involved on the offense and it was great to see Saad rewarded with a goal. Bickell also had a really good game.
  7. It seemed like most of the team played in not exactly slow motion but not exactly full speed either. Rozsival was a turnover machine, they couldn't clear the puck for what seemed like the entire 3rd period and Kane, Hossa and Sharp weren't feeling it. Blame it on being home, as Edzo kept saying, but at this point complacency is the biggest opponent the Hawks have right now. It's only one game. I fully realize that they can't go out and dominate veryone every night. They can certainly tighten things up though.
  8. So when Carcillo comes back, what happens? I like Saad staying on one of the top 2 lines. The most obvious answer would be that he replaces Mayers on the 4th line but that means Carcillo would be splitting time with Bollig too whenever Q gets the wild hair to play him. With a points cushion, would Q healthy scratch some of the stars periodically given the shortened season? I can't imagine ever willingly taking Kane or Toews out of the line up but Sharp and Hossa.
  9. I would think that Campana has a pretty decent chance of clearing waivers. Speedy OF that can't hit are readily available.
  10. You could always refer to them as the Child Predators or the pred-o-philes. That is, if you wanted to stoop to their level.
  11. Every question going into the season has been a yes Can Crawford play like he did 2 years ago? yes Can Hjammer and Oduya hold up as the 2nd pairing? yes Is Nick Leddy going to take the next step? yes Are Toews and Hossa fully recovered? yes While some people say Kane has been pretty lucky so far, Sharp has been very unlucky hitting the post seemingly once a game. Don't forget "Can the special teams not suck this year?" The PP has faded a bit and the sample size is still small but we've gone from 25th in PP and 26th in PK to 16th and 1st Good point. Kruger and Frloik have been great on the kill. I'd like to see Bickell replace Shaw as the net presence guy. I'd also prefer to see someone other than Stahlberg in that same role on the other unit. Maybe Saad. Another complaint last year is the coach Q random line generator. So far he's let things gel and it's worked. Though I wonder how many more Patrick Sharp hits the posts we are away from him being flipped with Saad. In the long run that move probably makes more sense though I'd rather flip Kane and Hossa. A Saad-Toews-Kane Line would be fun to watch and would free up the Sharp-Bolland-Hossa line from having to face the opposing team's checking line.

  13. So apparently, this is a real thing http://www.whatsyourprice.com/?ref=goo~name&gclid=COmU3bG-rLUCFUZV4AodpHoA5w
  14. Seeing Smith get run out of the game was more satisfying to me than seeing Torres get smacked around by Mayers. Hopefully, all that is behind them though I suspect they'll also send Bollig after him when they play at the UC. On to other Hawks things: I'll pose this question: Is Brookbank really that bad or does he just look bad compared to everyone else on the team? He's clearly, at best, the 6th defenseman on the team but considering how well 1-5 are playing, he has almost no chance of looking good by comparison. For all his shortcomings, he seems to have had a steadying influence on Leddy and has freed him up to join the rush.
  15. I feel like any street justice would take place on home ice. If Torres is who he's always been, they'll get him but not tonight. When the Coyotes come to the UC if you see that the 4th line is Bollig, Beach and Morin than you'll know that they're going to try to kill him.
  16. Future Considerations is a great hockey name. What position does he play?
  17. Just saw that ad for the first time. Ji hotties
  18. NSBB didn't exist back then. Or did you read that in Vine Line?
  19. Kruger has gotten a lot better on the dot too, though he really had nowhere to go but up. I may have imagined it but I could have sworn that one of the announcers said that Bolland was really good on the faceoff. It had to be Pierre, since that's completely wrong.
  20. He didn't make it into the top 20 in pass blocking efficiency for the second year in a row. I'm a little worried that he will be the Bears version of Orlando Pace. Wait... wasn't Orlando Pace the Bears version of Orlando Pace? What I meant was: Long = Orlando Pace when he was on the Bears not: Long on the Bears = Orlando Pace Sorry for the confusion. It really wasn't that confusing. As far as a comparison goes, there's a reason why good LTs don't hit the FA market. That the fact Long is even available should present something of a red flag. Long is Younger than PAce was when he came to the Bears but based on recent performance and injuries he *may* be done. I haven't followed Long's career. What injuries has he had?
  21. That would make Toews a target though. I'd rather just have Bollig, then Mayers exact whatever justice they can.
  22. I'm pretty sure it is. The suspension ended up being 21 games including the last 3 games of the Hawks series, the other 2 rounds the Coyotes played in last year and 10-12 games this year before we play them If they were smart, they'd make hima healthy scratch at the last moment so the Hawks would have played Bollig for no reason.
  23. Will the suspension be over when the Hawks go to Phoenix?
  24. So far, Hjammer is like a different player than last year's version. He's hanging on to the puck longer/ making better decisions. Even before the GWG last night I've really liked what I've seen from Leddy. In a starnge way, Montador not recovering from his concussion may have saved the Hawks from making what might have been a really bad trade. Many people, myself included, have bandied about trade proposals involving these 2 guys. I shudder to think where the Hawks would be if they had to rotate Olsen, Brookbank and Rozsival with 2 of them starting every night.
  25. I was just thinking why isn't Leddy in there instead of Oduya?
