  1. Did it tell you anything you didn't already know?
  2. It depends on matchups. The Pirates seem like they have at least 3 LHP in the rotation. Regardless of how well Hoffpaur hits LH I doubt he'll get astart against them.
  3. This poll should be split between stat related rules and playing rules. Stats rules: qualifying for a win as mentioned earlier. I especially like when no one pitched enough innings for the win so they give it to whomever they feel deserved it the most. Why don't they do that for every game? field rules: letting players like Barry Bonds wear a suit of armor to protect them from an injury they had 8 years earlier.
  4. That's what she said
  5. This probably has more to do with roto bitterness over Hill being demoted. Any other player that got drafted in a lot of leagues would get the same kind of reaction.
  6. It was the least the Cubs could do after Dusty Baker sawed his arm off at the elbow. This was one of those "Jim Hendry does right by the player" type moves. Now, let's hope the goodwill is over. He got in a few games, got a nice applause, got a TV story. Now, we should probably pick, you know, the best players to fill out the roster. That will always be the dream but Hendry, at times, puts how much the players like him ahead of what's best for the club. For example, wasting ABs on McGriff so he could achieve some meaningless record or more recently promoting Eric Patterson so he could appear in the same game as his brother.
  7. Cain and Lincecum are 23 and making $950K and $405K. Don't see the Giants pulling the trigger on that one. I heard on XM the other day that McGowan (sp?) was stepping down. Maybe that leads to some changes in the front office that make them want to cash in one of those guys for a bunch of ML ready talent. Pie, Murton, Marquis and Marshall plus someone like Veal might be pretty tempting. Admittedly, they might have to put Hill in there instead of Marshall but that would still be OK.

  9. I like the Forums: Brewers 16, Dodgers 1 Pedro for Delino
  10. Here's one we won't see Soriano Fukudome Lee ramirez Soto Edmonds Derosa Pitcher Theriot Though I'd bet we'll see Theriot bat 9th during interleague play.
  11. As far as I know, Jim Edmonds has never burned down an orphanage. Jim Edmonds contains 0 trans fat Jim Edmonds is tall, he can totally change the channel on the clubhouse TV if they can't find the remote. Jim Edmonds is younger than Cuse. Of course so is John McCain, The Bill of Rights and Moses.* Who knows, maybe Edmonds was sulking as a Padre and now that he has a desire to play maybe he will put up a 250/ 350/ 450 line batting 5th. *IIRC Cuse and I are the same age
  12. And for our troubles we get Lincecum. :D I'd settle for an autographed picture of Lincecum but the actual guy would be better.
  13. How about a deal with Marquis to the Pads, Maddux to the Giants and a hearty thank you to the Cubs.
  14. This looks like he's under orders to work on his breaking pitches.
  15. Bat confidence? Yeah, it's on the utility belt next to the Bat rope
  16. Think about the worst hitting pitcher you've ever seen. Let's say it's Matt Clement. He would look like Babe Ruth compared to any of us.
  17. Maybe the Cubs are sending Pie to AAA to learn how to pitch. That way he can be a loogy in 2 years since they already have 2 LH pitchers in the rotation. If the Cubs are going to sign a vet. LH hitter to play CF, why not just bring Jock Jones? In a strict platoon he's probably better than Edmonds.
  18. My Grandfather is 100 and he still does people's income taxes. Age shouldn't factor into the job any more than race or sex. The problem with having ayounger president is that we as tax payers will have to pay the secret service to follow them around the rest of their lives.
  19. i AM THE KING OF LITTLE LEAGUE. PIXIE STICKS FOR ALL AND A KEG OF ROOT BEER!!!
  20. I feel bad for Mulder. This might wind up being better for the Cards in the long run since they won't have to waste a few ML starts on him to see that he's done.
  21. The problem is that if the Cubs trade cedeno or Theriot they have to get a backup SS back in return. So if they can trade Pie as part of a package for Green, then trade Cedeno as part of a package for Roberts. O's get: Marquis, Cedeno, Patterson+ cash Padres get: Marshall, Pie, Veal Cubs get Roberts, Green Cubs bring Hill back up to replace Marquis Gallagher/ Lieber provide depth after Dempster's implosion
  22. Kroeger would actually make more sense than Murton since they seem to be looking for a LH hitter. He's also a better OF and could perhaps play CF in an emergency- something Murton could not do.
  23. Paul Sullivan wrote If he insists on making this idiotic move, lets hope he choses this option against all RH pitchers.
  24. I'm still waiting for Texas to sign Walrond so he can win 4 games for the big club ala John Koronka.
