  1. the leo mazzone year? try counting the time in detroit, too. 16/18 in saves. 2.19 era. 3.22 k/bb. boy, he sure was god awful.
  2. He could be 10 for his last 10 and any trade that gets Tony Womack less playing time is still a good one. can we be sure that this results in less playing time for womack? walker could be the one screwed here.
  3. oh man that makes this deal even worse for the cubs hahaha, way to go hendry! ....as in the Rangers are giving the Cubs $3.5 million; picking up that part of Nevin's contract. ltb wasted his 2,000th post on that. wasted? no, i made a legitimate point. you just don't have the comprehension skills to understand it, apparently. Attack the post not the poster? Welcome to third grade. excuse me? you attacked me, i responded. i'm not wasting my time with you though - you're not worth it.
  4. why not save what we've got left for a potential impact player should we have a slight chance at the wild card around the deadline, or just hang on to it for next year? this is a waste of money.

  6. oh man that makes this deal even worse for the cubs hahaha, way to go hendry! ....as in the Rangers are giving the Cubs $3.5 million; picking up that part of Nevin's contract. i understand this. nevin is making ten million. we're still going to be paying him quite a bit. edit: we've played 51 games, which leaves 111 left in the season. so, 68.5% of the season remains - that means nevin is still due $6.85 million. deducting the $3.5 million we're getting from texas, that means we're paying him $3.35 million. not exactly what i call a good deal. but you guys can continue trying to insult me. it's just funny when you fail miserably.
  7. a laugh? okay, so he makes legitimate points, and it's funny? right. albert pujols can't do any wrong. he cured aids and cancer, too...

  9. those numbers have declined every year since 2003. he is on pace for career lows in his hitting rate stats. he is also on pace for a career high in strikeouts. he is mediocre, and if he continues playing like this, he is awful.
  10. Nady had an appendectomy and is going to be out 3 weeks. I'm excited to see this guy play - this is what mlb.tv is for. It sure does suck to be Victor Diaz, though. A .608 OPS in AAA hurts, especially when anything better would have led to a starting job in the majors for a little while.
  11. dude you can't blame the injuries on dusty dude and you can't blame the bad players on dusty it's not his fault that they suck
  12. just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...
  13. yes, they could see this coming from the stellar minor league numbers, right? whatever, dude. you're just looking for some way to bash people that think hendry and dusty are doing a terrible job. this is stretching.

    Blanco

he has a solid .420 ops. if blanco continues to "hit" this poorly, i can't see him sticking the rest of the season. i think we'll see soto backing up barrett by the ASB.
  15. this was never a potential trade. it was bruce saying that hendry valued hill so highly that he probably wouldn't have traded him straight up for dunn last year.
  16. "This book and video series is destined to be the next classic in baseball hitting literature. Run, don't walk, to get yours!" -Larry Kahn, KMPC Sports Radio, Los Angeles this is unintentional humor, i think. hilarious.
  17. Date - Opp - K/BB 4/3 - @CIN - 5/5 4/8 - STL - 5/4 4/13 - CIN - 8/3 4/18 - @LA - 3/5 4/24 - FLA - 12/3 4/30 - MIL - 5/5 5/5 - @SD - 10/3 5/10 - @SF - 6/5 doesn't look like he struggles with control when he gets a lot of k's (see 4/24 and 5/5), but it is interesting to note that he has 0 games with under 3 walks this year.
  18. Murton batting eighth? ugh...that walk he took last night must have made Dusty mad.
  19. Why would any opposing pitcher throw ANYTHING near the zone? Mabry is swinging at anything he sees lately - throw him the heat at his eyeballs and he's going to try to overhead chop that ball down.
  20. "You guys won today. You guys won yesterday, so that's two in a row. If you win again tomorrow, that's called a winning streak. It has happened before." maybe we can see this happen, major league style
  21. I'm excited to see this. Might be relegated to watching an archive or condensed game, but I really want to see this guy pitch.
  22. zambrano currently leads the majors in both strikeouts (54) and walks (33) haha
  23. no, he plays for the padres - i'm guessing this took place before the game
  24. oh, i thought you were talking about the cubs game tonight. i would say you're probably in a zip considered part of the cardinals' market as well (most of central and southern illinois is part of the cubs, white sox, and cardinals' blackout areas), but you're in chicago, so i have no idea.
