    You do know they played together before and won a title with Anaheim right? and we all know they made such a huge contribution to that squad....

    i think they can always offer arbitration. it's just that he can't make less than 80% of what he made last year - and that's way more than the cubs should be willing to pay. i want to see him back, but at ~$11m, no thanks.

    it's really depressing to look back and see how good this team should have been. fitting that the only game i got to that season was the one where pujols hit 3 bombs and the cardinals came back from like 7 down to win. ugh.

    you're entitled to that opinion, but is has no basis in stats perhaps you should look at his stats before you post? career ERA+: 100 2 of his 8 seasons included an ERA+ of over 100. that means he was below average, in terms of ERA+, for 3/4 of his time in the major leagues. that's a statistical basis for being mediocre.

    i am disgusted by jim hendry seriously lou piniella for 3 years, and bringing back rothschild? mark prior isn't going to pitch again until 2009.

    I disagree - many Red Sox fans I know can't name a player that isn't Ortiz or Manny. It's just hip to like them.

    the cubs fan base is not the pacers fan base. wrigley field will always be full.

    another reason we won't shut prior down: we "owe" it to the other teams to run our best lineup out there. who cares about seeing what we've got for next year, we better help out the dbacks by beating their rivals! if he is injured, shut him down for the rest of the season. it's over. give him a chance to actually start game 2 of the season next year.

    it's glendon time! wooooooooooo Is Glendon taking his spot, or are they waiting until they need a pitcher before they call Hill up? i can't see why they'd just call up theriot until they need a starter. especially after rusch's last outing, i definitely can't see them not giving him another start. this organization baffles me with its stupidity on a daily basis.
