  1. i got mine for the 22nd this week, but nothing for later than that, yet.
  2. i'm pretty disgusted by a lot of the responses in this thread. "oh, it was only .093, he wasn't going to kill anyone" "it's ok he didn't hurt anybody" just because nothing happened doesn't mean the potential wasn't there.
  3. The Marlins are considering making an offer for Angel Pagan, perhaps using shortstop prospect Robert Andino as bait, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports. please, jim. do this. getting rid of pagan sounds awesome.
  4. if they fail to report even the slightest of injuries, this starts to look a whole lot more like the original prior cover-up, and i don't think the cubs/tribco want to feel the backlash from that again
  5. Nice, so did I! This is the first year that I've been selected... is it going to be a virtual waiting room just like when regular tickets went on sale? Also, it says I can buy at 9:00 AM Thursday morning... is that when it opens up for everyone, or are there different times? It seems like people had different times, but I could be wrong. Edit: Nevermind, I read the rest of the email. 9:00 is the earliest time. Awesome! no VWR i don't think
  6. What time slot did you get? 10
  7. I just got the e-mail letting me buy the dugout/bullpen/bleacher box seats. awesome.
  8. he was never scheduled for 3. only 2.
  9. the pitch was 87. batted ball or the bat itself was 94.
  10. he did have perfect mechanics. he altered them. that's what led to the achilles injury, and it's all been downhill from there. It's late, but wasn't it the other way around? heh, i really wish i could explain this. i worded it exactly as i meant it. i guess i shouldn't expect anyone to believe it, but the way i worded it is correct - it's just that the reason was never released to the media/public (it has to do with a minor injury that led to altered mechanics that led to the achilles injury). source is a highly regarded injury expert trusted by many on this board..but i can't say more than that. i know it makes me seem kind of like a prick, sorry :/

  12. lol. that's about all i can say about this deal.
  13. vizquel circa 1994 is izturis' #6 comparable, with a sim index of 39. not terrible. then again, cristian guzman is his #4, so he could go either way. i'm guessing he trends to be more like guzman than vizquel.
  14. carroll made a post about this on BP unfiltered today. read that to see the truth.
  15. if this is the case, trading jones is a huge mistake
  16. we all knew this was coming eventually. the ad board behind home plate was a sign of things to come.
  17. what an awful trade thanks jim, jason marquis is certainly way better.
  18. this is correct. mike maddux focused him more on controlling those pitches, which led to success in his first stint in milwaukee. you'll notice that when he gets into trouble, he will start to dial it up to 98mph or so.
  19. i don't think this is a bad signing, especially at that price. in fact, i quite like it (for the pirates, that is).
  20. I don't think Wood can handle the workload of a closer. He needs to be used as a 2 innings every 3 days type of setup man. And he will dominate at that. If we need him more often (2IP/2 days) down the stretch, that will probably be fine, but if Lou rides him hard early in the season, I wouldn't expect him to be healthy later.
  21. please provide me with a better predictor of future performance thanks! Why? Do you think minor league stats can be equated to major league performance absolutely? If so, you have your opinion already. did i say that? i was asking you for something that will predict a player's major league performance better than his minor league performance. i'm really looking forward to your answer.
  22. and they gave him a vesting option for 2009 this just keeps looking worse for the mariners seriously, how long can bavasi keep his job?
  23. please provide me with a better predictor of future performance thanks!
