  1. lol, I fell asleep when they were down 0-1 in the 9th thinking that game was over. I'm just now checking the score. I feel awesome. #teamofdestiny
  2. I've seen some amazing stuff at baseball games, for example I saw Barry Bonds hit a broken bat line drive home run down the RF line at Joe Robby/Blockbuster/Whatever Stadium. But the most amazing thing I've seen is Sanders throw a ball completely out of Wrigley from just behind second base.
  3. When the Pirates were good (Bonds era) I was sitting in the bleachers and someone called Andy VanSlyke a butt pirate. I got nothing. At a Yankees game in 97 I was sitting in the RF bleachers and I have a Kalamazoo shirt on. Some knucklehead yelled, "only [expletive] come from Kalamazoo". I said, "maybe so, but you just called Jeter a [expletive]." The look on his face was priceless. Later he came back to me an said he was sorry. I was pretty wasted by that time and made the mistake of telling him no hard feelings, but you are still an ass-hole." During the singing of YMCA a gang of about 15 dudes surrounded me and my friends and sung the Y R U gay version of the song. Lesson learned, be nice to gangs of ass-holes.
  4. Id love to see the Cubs grab Lucroy at the trade deadline and DFA Mintero.
  5. I was born January 6th, 1969. The future looked bright for the northsiders when I was born, The Cubs finished strong in '68 with an 84-78 record, but we all know how that turned out.
  6. They win and the Cubs are still in their head. Group therapy is in order, me thinks.
  7. Can we lock this thread until next year?
  8. Vin Scully is bad but he's still far from the worst. The Sox already have a ready-made worst booth to choose. i think you're in teh same camp as me on this...i don't hate vin scully at all. i just think he's a senile boring old man as an announcer, and, for whatever reason, the whole baseball world pretends he isn't. He's always been boring and bad. People in baseball love tradition and longevity, that's why everyone loves him. The Dodgers have basically had only 2 broadcasters since radio was invented, he and Red Barbor and that's pretty cool, but he's sucks and he's always sucked. A one man booth is horsefeathers.
  9. Jaso looks like an extra from Point Break (Bussey/Reaves version).
  10. The Cubs are so in the Pirates heads. Molina has to be the catcher on th all hate team. Lackey is the 3rd starter.
  11. Caratini was impressive behind the plate last night. In general, the Smokies played great defense. The SS made an incredible on a ball hit up the middle. They hit the ball hard all night, but I'm not sure the pitching for the biscuits was quite up to standards. A great game, but a long one.
  12. Smokies taking their walks like the big boys.
  13. TIL; Chesney Young is Caucasian.
  14. I'll be at the Smokies game tonight. Is Markey a legitimate prospect or filler? He has a good record and decent ERA, but his walks are concerning.
  15. Jorge's flying open. He needs a swing adjustment.
  16. Somebody is going to walk into a dong.
  17. Yeah, WTF. Let's just enjoy this and stop pissing on our joy parade.
  18. If Almora doesn't see the bigs in 2017 with the Cubs it will be because he was traded. You do a very poor imitation of Kyle.
  19. Bryant is going to hit one of those lolly-pop curve balls to the moon
  20. I'm sick of this losing horsefeathers. Let's go.
