  1. He really seems like a big time "team first" type of dude that everyone loves as well. It'll be Willson and Miggy as the catchers next year. Then maybe they can put Schwarber as the 3rd guy if he is fully healed. After Montero's contract is up, they'll replace him with another Ross type guy. Is it possible that Caratini comes up as a backup/part time player with Contreras and Schwarber catchine one day out of 5? The Cubs would be the envy of the league at C I would say yes, but the answer is probably no, because catchers develop more slowly. I've seen him play a few times now and he looks pretty polished behind the plate. But what do I know? He may be more likely to be traded than play for the Cubs.
  2. very decent indeed. McLoed knows what he's doing
  3. As long as he can throw a baseball, he's better than Richard so adding him to the 25-man by then should be no problem. yeah, if he doesn't make the 25 he's probably not making any teams 25 man.
  4. Jake is money in the bank.
  5. How the hell did you manage to post this three posts after he chimed in (and two minutes)? What are the odds? Don't know.
  6. Tom/Godzillia has been strangely silent on AA Jr's big league experience.
  7. I'm willing to bet that I may never spell his first name correctly in a post.
  8. He's peaking at the right time for the Cubs. I have to imagine he's going to be included in any trade.
  9. When did Daniel Murphy become Jeff Kent?
  10. Keep it close and be patient at the plate. Get Strasburg out by the 6th and let Dusty make poor bullpen decisions. Cubs win 5-3.
  11. Scizzors. [spoil]http://41.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mebg9rVMho1rlo1q2o1_1280.jpg[/spoil]
  12. Because it went over the bag? It didn't look like it to me.
  13. at best: http://i.imgur.com/PxIb7HS.jpg Awesome, you even flipped the picture.
  14. Which is why I understand the Yankees making outlandish demands, not that I'd want to be the ones to meet them. And I doubt that we will. But when you're the Yankees, at least in their mind, they can lose 100 games this year and effortlessly buy a 100 win team for next. They've got a ton of cash coming off the payroll over the next 2 years- Texeira, Sabbathia, and Beltran after 2016 and A Rod after 2017, all of which I have to imagine they'll go right out and spend it all on the shiniest objects available. So if they do trade an asset such as Betances or Miller, it's going to be for nothing short of a big league ready impact player or a package including multiple top 25 prospects. The Yankees are are run by a couple of guys who aren't their father and want to make as much money as possible. They aren't buying a 100 win team. It's more likely that they will follow the Cub model, than the George Steinbrenner model.
  15. Hopefully they have the sloppiness out of their system now. Every stupid move Dusty tried lass night succeeded, that won't happen every night. I fully expect Lacky to go into full on dick mode and the Cubs to score some runs. Cubs win 6-3.
  16. Where do they put Miller? I'm all for redundancy in the bullpen, but I'd rather not pay a premium for it. Then again, Grimm hasn't exactly set the world on fire this year. I don't like giving up hitters for relief pitchers, but whatever, I trust the brain trust.
