So basically we should be prepared for an hour's worth of "What are the Red Sox & Yankees going to do next?"

I wish there was an intelligent baseball show out there. Or even something like Inside the NFL on HBO.

THats the best thing Phillips has ever reported. I'm surprised he figured out how they worked though. He couldn't explain waivers during the ESPN Daygame once. That had me laughing.

Anyways, nothing new and exciting yet.

I wanna see: "Breaking News: ESPN Reporter Peter Gammons is reporting that the Chicago Cubs have traded center-fielder Corey Patterson to the Dodgers in exchange for Milton Bradley. More on this as more comes in."

That's what I want to see.

The Dodgers might just accept that, pathetic as it is. I just don't think the Cubs are smart enough to offer him.

yay gammons thinks the cubs are cripppled

It's going to be the Dodgers who are crippled when Furcal goes right back to his career norms from 2006-07.

Gammons says we're looking at Pierre, or Wilkerson in a "Patterson plus" deal.

Trading for Lugo and put him at 2nd?

Please get Wilkerson, Jim. Don't get Pierre unless he's the best available player.

Furcal's 2005: 284/348/429

Furcal's career: 284/348/409

His 2005 was his career norm.

Houston is being aggressive about getting Abreu. Brandon Backe was mentioned.

Toronto and Vernon Wells and Boston and Trot Nixon/Matt Clement were also talked about for Abreu.

Posted

Stark was just talking about all of the teams interested in Abreu. He said the Astros are really interested as are the Red Sox, Blue Jays and some others.

He said Trot Nixon/Matt Clement has been rumored, but he didn't know if that would be enough. Then he said the Phillies really like Brandon Backe and Chad Qualls.

How is Backe and Qualls > Nixon and Clement?
