any talk of mueller coming back to play 2b for the cubs if/when they trade walker?

 

He is by far my favorite ex-Cub that is still playing and in my top 10 all-time. I have a huge man crush on Bill Mueller.

 

he's one of my favorites too. no man crush (not that there's anything wrong with that...) but i would love to see his bat and glove at 2b the next year or 2 until epat is ready (simlar to pierre in cf until pie is ready). your avatar is a different story though pedro as far as crushes go.

After these meetings which will result in Hendry doing nothing. We'll probably read something like this from Hendry: "Very rarely are trades made at the Winter Meetings but, we've laid some groundwork for some future deals." Something to this extent will continue to come out of his mouth until Feburary when it'll change to - "We tried but, really couldn't meet the asking price, etc. of teams we talked to..." afterwhich he'll sign a Jacque Jones or Juan Encarnacion for RF.

You forgot Hendry starts every sentence with "obviously".

 

If it is so frickin obvious then do it. Do it.

Ha. Hendry needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat to get us into the playoffs. We will all know the answer to Hendry being a good GM soon enough. I wouldn't be surprised if we go into spring training with Hendry saying how nobody wanted to trade with us, or the FAs were overpriced to improve the team enough. The ball is on your court Hendry make it happen!
