I can't recall him recording more than two outs in any one appearance.

 

You'd assume that he just wasn't 100%, but if he wasn't, why was he pitching so much? Without inside info, any guess as to what happened to him is as good as any.

My guess is that the Marlins brainwashed him, and then sent him back to the Cubs where he will suck forever.

In his defense, I hear he was really getting squeezed by the umps.

As memory serves me, he had a difficult Tommy John Surgery that he never quite fully recovered from.

I do recall the Cubs saying his surgery was more difficult than normal. I don't recall reading whether that just meant his recovery would be longer or if he'd never fully recover. Considering how long it's been since the surgery I suspect the latter; I hope I'm wrong.

I thought he also split a tendon in his finger or something in spring training with Marlins. This probably needs to be searched on this forum.

I don't recall the specific nature of the injury, but I definitely remember that he had some injury during his time with the Marlins.

Didn't Haggerty have nice mechanics and it was the slider that injuried him?
