Cold sucks. Wind sucks. Snow really, really sucks. Warmth is awesome. Humidity, though less awesome than dry warmth, is still pretty darn good. And who can complain about the sun, giver of all life?

Summer gives us great things; barbeques, fireworks, and baseball. Winter breeds nothing but fruitcake, ice scrapers, and the NBA. Sixteen hours of beautiful daylight put leaves on the trees and let the flowers bloom. The perpetual gloom of this time of year produces nothing but the rotting stench of death and clogged gutters. You may keep your winter months, sir, and stick them where the sun don't shine. Wake me up next spring, when the days of swimming pools and ice-cold drinks are once again upon us.

In summary: I freakin' hate winter. Vehemently. I'd rather it be 110 degrees than 50. (It should probably be noted that I'm saying this after having to drag myself out of bed at 4:00 A.M. on a 20 degree morning.)

Hot weather = girls in bikinis. :)

That sums it up.

Wind is good. the sun is evil. Heat sucks.

I really despise living in the tropics.

Oh, but I really prefer late october type weather: windy, humid, maybe some light rain, and dark

Cold = bad.

Cold=dark (it's already pitch black by 5pm here with over a month till the official shortest day of the year.)

Cold=bad driving conditions

Cold=high heating bills

Cold=Shoveling snow (give me lawn mowing any day)

I've always thought there's something inherently elitist about preferring cold weather. I don't think anyone actually enjoys cold per se, so much as they enjoy feeling insulated from the cold, and insulating yourself from the cold is expensive. The only people I have ever known who say they enjoy cold are very financially well-off, work in comfortable indoors environments, and can easily afford high heating bills, high vehicle maintenance costs, etc.

Slugger, who's the dude in your avatar?

That's a character from The Office. Don't know the actor's name though, or his character's, even though I watched it last night. I do know that he convinced a coworker that it was Friday when it was really Thursday though.

The character is Jim. His real name is John Krasinski. I like how he gives each of my posts a thumbs up. A stamp of approval, if you will.

Jiiiiim Halpert...Faaaaat Halpert

I love that show so much.

=D> I could not have said this better myself. I hate, hate, hate winter and cold weather. I hate that it gets dark so early. I love the sun and warmth and need some humidity. I get sick when it's dry, dark and cold. I'm usually in a permative state of grumpiness once it drops below 45 degrees until it reaches 60 again in the spring. In short, winter sucks and as soon as I can move to the south again, I will.

i love winter and cold weather and im a poor bastard.

Me too.

Although I can really take all kinds of weather conditions.

For example I love working outside in the summer and getting a good sweat. However, I hate that I can also sweat by just standing still. And I would much rather have dry heat. Being poor, we dont keep our house that cool either during the summer, and waking up sweaty is the worst.

I also love the snow. I used to always put on long socks, shorts, some long sleeves, and good hat and go play basketball during the winter. The only thing that slowed me down was when the ball hit snow outside the driveway and got all wet. Cold weather is soo refreshing. Someone said they couldn't breathe in cold air. I think its the exact opposite. Cold air is refreshing. On the other hand, trying to breathe when it is soo humid is tough.

I never got anyone who could wear sleeves during a football game, unless you sucked and never saw the field, yea then keep yourself warm. But if you are out playing football, you shouldn't even notice the cold. You shouldn;t notice any weather condition, but cold seems to be the only one people complain about, but I don't get it.

So although I will gladly embrace any weather you throw my way, Cold is much preferred.

It's 35 out so 'i'm taking the laptop out, turning a tv against the window (for football), and bundling up.

Yay november weather

Only problem is it gets hard to type eventually

Last I checked, warm, summery conditions were never responsible for keeping my wife stuck at the airport for 24 hours when she only has the weekend off before flying back to work again :evil:

Snow has its charms, but cold in and of itself sucks. I actually like running in the city when it's snowing. I did 13.65 miles Tuesday morning. It was 12 deg F. at O'Hare when I left, probably about 5 deg. by the lake, where I did most of the distance. It was snowing and beautiful and I never felt cold. I did another 17 miles during the blizzard conditions Thursday evening with snow up over my ankles. The city and Lincoln Park in particular were gorgeous with the snow blanket. If you take the snow away you lose the scenery and you're just left with a big cold crappy city. Those conditions are unpleasant and uninspiring and I usually don't run very well in them.

It got down to 10 below (that's Farenheit) here the night before last, complete with several inches of snow. How anyone can prefer that to a sunny, 90 degree day is quite beyond my capacity. Maybe global warming isn't such a bad thing after all.
