So who can tell me about Bradley, anyway. After last year, I'll never look past a first round opponent again.

Me either....way too many first round upsets for us. Every team that plays Syracuse can beat them this year and every game will be a battle. Also, Syracuse always does horrible in the NCAA's when they win the BE tournament.

a 7 foot center that can make the NBA in Patrick O'Bryant. If he gets in foul trouble though, Bradley has the tendency to just rely on the jump shot. They are extremely hot though. I think they've lost just 2 games in their last 12 or so.

oh yeah, Marcus Sommerville and Tony Bennett know how to shoot as well. I think they are going to give Kansas all they can ask for.

How do their guards handle ball pressure? That's KUs bread and butter.

Should be interesting, both teams play very good defense. As much fun as it would be to see kU fall, I couldn't pick against them against the Braves.

imo Bradley is a less talented KU. I mean much less, but they do have experience. You guys will beat them handily as last year will be on your minds.

Illinos goes 25-5 in the number 1 rpi conference and gets a 4 seed

Last year Duke goes 25-5 in the number one conference and gets a 1

Yeah that seems about right. The NCAA is a farce.

I thought that Illinois should have got a 3 at the worst.

I have to agree. There is no possible way you guys should be seeded behind Florida, Tennessee, or Iowa at the least.

I would have taken a 4 in any other bracket too. If we get to UCONN anyone have the over under on Augustine pt before he fouls out. I will go with 8 minutes.

Illinois got jobbed big time. Tennessee...I don't know what happened there. Total joke. That's got to REALLY rub UI fans wrong, too--that Bruce Pearl got such a gift seeding.

What really burns me is that some of the teams I feel were overseeded not only got good seeds, but really good draws into the second weekend. Florida I don't think is very good, but there's no way they lose to South Alabama, and with the game in Jacksonville I don't see them losing to OU(3rd best 6 seed) or UW-M, who doesn't match up well against power conferences.

At least the good news for MSU is that George Mason's PG is suspended for punching a Hofstra player in the groin. That and their tallest player is a 6-8 freshman.

yep, we got the ol' joan collins special, like Big Ten teams always do.

But they're Duke...

Nothing new, typical treatment by Commitee as far the Illini are concerned. With a few exceptions ('89, '01 and '05) they managed to seed the Illini the furtherest form home and in a loaded region. I understand the seeding but, San Diego?

The Duke announcers on ESPN seemed to be impressed with BC so they should be ahead of your Illini too.

Wasn't U of I a no. 1 last year?

EDIT: Again, I think U of I got jobbed (particularly since Tenn. got a no. 2; what the hell was that?), but I reject the dead-horse "east coast bias" argument.

Of course, for that matter, so too Kansas and LSU. Heck, it'll be a minor miracle if they manage to beat the fearsome, near impregnable two some of Air Force and UW.

Personally, I would have seeded UI higher than KU, but the resumes do compare favorably.

UI 25-6 16rpi 54sos 9-5 vsRPItop50 10-5rd/neutral 6-4last 10

KU 24-7 20rpi 49sos 4-5 vsRPItop50 10-5rd/neutral 9-1last 10

UI has the clear advantage in record vs. RPI top 50, but four of KUs five losses to RPI top 50 came before Jan 1. Also, KU has the advantage in recent play and conference championship.

Again, I'd have seeded UI a three, but I don't think it's completely out of bounds to have KU as the same seed as Illinois.

It's not just that Illinois got screwed into a 4 while Tennesee got a 2, but also that Illinois's potential 2nd-round matchup with Washington will be a bona fide home game for the Huskies. This same thing happened with my Irish in 2003 when the committee made Illinois a 4 and ND a 5 in the same pod in Indianapolis. That was more unintentional, but the crowd in that game was very partisan for ND.

This also happened to 4-seed BC, who is likely to be playing 5-seed Nevada in Salt Lake in the 2nd round. Oops.

Way too much emphasis was put on the conference tourney's this year.

Boom. Right on the head. Cuse a 5? Florida a 3? IU a 6? Ridiculous.

Tennessee a two could be one of the biggest shockers in the last few years. When I was told the seedings for the DC bracket, I thought it was a joke that they were a two and Illinois a four seed. Illinois is just gonna have to go out there and prove people and the committee wrong.

My thoughts as well, as a Illini fan I say f*** 'em, bring them all on...

Oh well we get the best team early, if we could get past them I would love our chances to win the whole shebang. Sadly I am having nightmares about McBride trying to create shots against Rudy Gay.

After beating UConn the remainder of the Tournament would seem anti-climatic.

I would sure like to find out. I hope we play MSU again so the world can see what a joke this committee did. No one in the world, including their coach, had Tennessee as a 2. I would have thought since we had a better record in a better conference that we would be higher than UNC. Especially when you think that we beat them on their home floor this year. Ridiculous. I hope the Pops is back in the second round as that 8-9 without him for Duke to play the winner of is a joke. Neither of those teams are as good as texas or nevada where last year. The committte set that side up for the golden team.

I hope Illini fans aren't the ones complaining about Air Force....talk about a gift! (on the other hand, wil any team have more to prove than AF? Could be dangerous...)

Anyone think they tourney will expand to 66-68 teams in the future to accomodate more of the weak conference winners and make more room for the at-larges?

And what is up with Villanova getting to play the "play-in" team? Wouldn't it stand to reason that the overall #1 seed (Duke) would play that team?

nope because if they did they wouldnt have been in the atlanta region because of not being able to play two days in a row. Illinois didn't play the play in game winner last year either.
