I just want this to be over already. Make your decision Fooky. I'm tired of the back and forths.

I'm extremely nervous of Hendry's "backup plan" if he doesn't get Furcal though. :ohnoes:

Quotes by Kinzaer lead me to believe that this decision will not be made before Monday's Winter Meetings begin.

However, "with the Dodgers now getting involved, it just complicates [a decision] a little bit," Kinzer told ESPN.com. "We're still talking to all three teams. But now, instead of basically concentrating on two teams, we've just added a third."

Kinzer said Furcal, ideally, would like to make his decision before the winter meetings begin next week. "But there's no drop-dead date."

I'm starting to think that trading for Castillo might be the best thing for us.

I haven't seen anything mentioned about Hendry being interested in Castillo. I'm worried the Cardinals are going to get him. If anything I hope the Twins step up and get him.

I'm worried that we're going to see Soriano roaming 2nd base for the Cubs next year. Talk about just making our problems worse. :x

i really don't beleive the Soriano rumors. hendry fell all over himself talking about guys who can catch. soriano isn't one of those...well the talent is there, but it looks like he has ADD sometimes.

On to Plan B, I suppose.

I wouldn't say that. It's only for 3 years. Furcal is probably looking a longer term contract. If we could go 5 years 55 million, that would seal the deal...I think.

Is it really that hard to read the other Furcal thread(s)?

This is new info.

Check out the Furcal 5 years $50 million thread. This article has already been posted in there last night.

well, golly gee whiz...I'm so sorry for taking up your precious space! I don't read every post in every thread.

I apologize for being a complete ditz and wanting to pass on info that I thought others might want to hear.

Nah, don't feel that way. I'm sorry if you feel like you were jumped on. I'm sure we've all done it. :)

Don't lose sleep over it, you did nothing wrong.

The bad thing is 3/39 is better than 4/40 which is what I was hoping we'd get him for.

I think he'd take 3/39 instead of 5/50. He's leaving 11 million on the table, but even after three years, if he signed a 2/12 deal he'd come out ahead.

With the salaries coming off the books, could Hendry offer him the choice of a 3/39 or 5/50? One deal, we tie him up for fewer years....in the other we pay him less over more time. I'm not opposed to either, really.

I apologize if I came off as harsh, but I'm just frustrated with repeat information that wasn't caused by the trouble the board has had this week.

Either deal is overpaying for Furcal, but I'd almost rather offer him the 3/39 instead of the 5/50. I don't think anyone should be getting a 5-year deal.

I don't think we have to outbid the Dodgers...we just have to not get blown out of the water by them. 5/55 would easily trump 3/39. If I was committed enough to do 5/50, I think I would go the extra 1 per if I had to.
