Now that we know that Hendry doesn't share many of our feelings about Neifi!, I thought it would be interesting to see where people thought Hendry was going this offseason. What I don't want to see, but fear I might is a lineup of:

Furcal

Neifi

Lee

Aram

Jaque Jones

Juan Encarnacion

Murton

Barrett

I could easily see Hendry signing Jones and Juan and calling them upgrades.

I honestly am so shocked by the Neifi! signing that I have no idea where Hendry is going this offseason and no faith.

How is that line up worse than some of the line ups Baker threw out there last year? Macias and Perez were hitting 1/2 for several days in August and September.

I should have prefaced this with the fact that the Cubs have 40 mil to spend, so I guess it should read "most dissapointing" lineup.

woah woah woah that lineup can easily be worse we saw worse ones last year. In fact, it could just be me but I don't thing that lineup u gave is that bad. Jones and Encarnacion are easlily upgrades over Burnitz/Patterson IMO. Also, getting Furcal would good itself.

Sadly, they are.

I think Ill puke if we get those two for the outfield. But hey, they do fit perfectly into Cubs baseball.

The worst possible lineup Hendry could put out there without gutting the team:

SS- Perez

CF- Patterson

1B- Lee

3B- Ramirez

RF- Encarnacion

C- Barrett

LF- Murton

2B- Cedeno

At the very least, I see Furcal coming our way and a stop gap like Lofton for CF, but with some potential for a bigger bat in RF and even CF. Personally I wont be happy unless all of RF,CF, and SS are uprgaded.

SS- Furcal

CF- Lofton?Pierre?etc

1B- Lee

3B- Ramirez

RF- Encarnacion? shoot higher Abreu/Giles?

C- Barrett

LF- Murton

2B- Cedeno

However those horrible Dusty lineups were with 2 excellent offensive starters hurt (Walker and ARAM). The possible lineup opening day shouldnt be comparable to a lineup sans our second and third best hitters.

I realize this may not quite be what you were going for, but...

C - Todd Hundley

1B - Fred McGriff (not in his prime)

2B - Bobby Hill

SS - A Gone

3B - Chris Stynes

LF - Delino

CF - Darren Lewis

RF - Sammy

Sure, some of these guys were not the regular starters, but I still cannot believe that team only lost 95 in '02.

You forgot to replace murton with a lousy vet.

You're right. I'm sure Calvin Murray or Trenidad Hubbard could do a much better job in left.

This lineup may tick some people off, and wouldn't be surprised to see it.

Pierre, Furcal, I-Rod, Lee, ARam, Soriano, Monroe, Murton

Cubs trade Patterson & prospect for Pierre

Cubs trade Barrett and prospects for I~Rod and Monroe. (Detroit saves money)....

Cubs trade Hill, Williams and Cedeno for Sori
